Review: Defense Dome | Nintendo Life

NL:
Not much else can be said about Defense Dome, but that is only because there is not much to say. A small, barebones game that quickly loses its audience due to a lack of engagement and repetitive actions. Although it comes with a small price tag it still doesn't feel like a worthwhile purchase. Here's hoping the add-on content that is planned by HullBreach will add some much needed colour and variety to the game, but as it stands it misses the mark.

As Darth Vader would say... "Impressive".

OverlordEnel4249d ago

Since we can't get Minecraft on Wii U, I guess this'll have to suffice.

Similar name, similar graphics and similar gameplay to Minecraft. Quite the clone. I predict a lawsuit from Microsoft. Nintendo should not be surprised. Nintendo has already sued a few developers for Mario clones.

Realplaya4249d ago

Why should Nintendo be surprised?
There not creating the game.

deafdani4247d ago

I doubt it. Minecraft is also a clone in the first place.

Look Infiniminer up. It's the game that Minecraft was based on.

That...actually doesn't look too horrible for a first screen.
I wonder what kinds of elements they're putting in; Minecraft got a ton of RPG-ish elements in the end, maybe the same will happen here?

Geekman4250d ago

Good Gosh, you are really craving an RPG. :D

wonderfulmonkeyman4250d ago

With so many shooters being planned for the future, can you really blame me for looking for something else?

Codewow4250d ago

Curious enough to watch news about it, not curious enough to want to buy it though. A minecraft clone is a minecraft clone. There's not much you could do to make your version better without losing out on other aspects of what make Minecraft fun.

EliteGameKnight4250d ago (Edited 4250d ago )

You could argue that nearly all games are clones of one another. Due to the danger of releasing a bad game, game developers stick to industry norms while at times offering a small inconsequential innovation which may or may not be massively accepted. For this reason I am fine with clone games as there is always that possibility that they may offer something entirely new in the process.

Codewow4249d ago (Edited 4249d ago )

Typically games that take from another game don't also look exactly like that other game though.

stragomccloud4250d ago

I'm actually going to buy this just because the minecraft creator refused to put minecraft on Wii U, even though it is literally available everywhere else. For every sale he sees, it's a sign of a potential customer he lost by not releasing a Wii U version of the game.

Skate-AK4250d ago

Maybe he didn't want to because he was already in talks with Microsoft to buy the company. They said he hasn't been working on Minecraft since 2012. If you guys really want it on Wii U, you need to tweet 4J Studios.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory4250d ago (Edited 4250d ago )

That never work for Nintendo fans. Nintendo fans are told to tweet to developers for many games such Soul Calibur II HD.

Never would happen.

ChickeyCantor4250d ago

For all we know this is just several cube primitives assembled in unity3D lol.
