Bungie is wrong for telling us we're playing Destiny wrong

Steve Wright -- "As many gamers expected since its discovery, the infamous Destiny loot cave has been patched by developer Bungie. Fair call or not, the way in which Bungie did so is a a slap in the face to anyone playing the game."

I'm cool with that. Didn't use it much and when I did, I got mostly green and blue emblems which doesn't do my level character any good.

I will miss the part while farming and the sh*t hits the fan when a wave of enemies come swarming out. To hear everyone yell "here they come" at the same time is hilarious lol. It's like a mini strike.

joab7774266d ago

Exactly. It's not a slap in the face. He conveniently forget to mention that they are going to address the reasons why this occurred in the 1st place.

And in any mmo, ppl flock to the exploits for shortcuts. It's definite gonna happen in a game in which many ppl have never played an mmo and can't understand why progression is purposely walled off.

Believe me, it's like this with every mmo b/c it has to be. Are there issues, yes, but I am happy to see that Bungie is doing something about some of the real problems. And the loot cave isn't the fastest or most enjoyable way to level anyway so I never understood.

Man you have the same opinion I have. The cod crowd got hand of an mmo and their like what? Progression matters? I actually have to spend hours and my progress means something? and this progress isn't just handed to me? How is this... How can this be.

I love mmos, I love progressing until I'm the top teir knowing only the best got there and then killing noobs. But the pvp in destiny is pretty balance not like in dcuo or wow where I just ganked low levels when I was bored.

I_AM_ CANADIAN_19894265d ago

@dante what the heck are you talking about progression in destiny there is no progression you can literally grind for two days straight and be stuck at level 26 and get legendarys that turn out to be for the wrong class or blues or greens. Legendary engrams are a joke.

MysticStrummer4266d ago

A slap in the face? Give me a damn break.

GiggMan4266d ago

It is a bit dramatic lol.

Anonymous20244266d ago (Edited 4266d ago )

A hasty 200-300kb patch to do away with an exploit that spotlighted just how brain-dead the loot system is may not be a "slap in the face", but it certainly comes off as a bad joke, especially considering the multitude of other lingering issues with the game.

equal_youth4266d ago

felt more like they ripped a social aspect off the game.

Bungie is telling us how to play and that it takes over 20 hours before it gets better?

DragonKnight4266d ago

Sounds exactly like FFXIII.

"It gets better 20 hours in when you reach Gran Pulse."

And it didn't.

Blacklash934266d ago

FFXIII did get better at Gran Pulse... slightly and only for a couple hours.

Its neat especially since not everyone might have two friends playing it. Makes it more personal to go at in duos.

It's 2026 and basic match making features in MP games are still being drip fed to an audience that still gets excited over said basic feature being implemented.

Almost 16,000 reviews on Steam currently has the game sitting on a very positive 90% Not sure if it has the player numbers but those who are playing seem to be enjoying themselves.

Putte83d ago

And as of now a 5.1 user score on metacritic. Really bad.

LiViNgLeGaCY83d ago

On Steam, you have to have bought the game, in order to play. On metacritic, ANYONE can review it. I'll leave it for you to decide which one matters more.

Trolls on Metacritic, must be a new thing or you were born yesterday

The game is really really bad. So generic boring and lifeless. UI is terrible. Bad and slow gameplay. Not sure who gives the go ahead for these games. Insane all that money companies just throw away for no reason. Nobody a asking for these games

LiViNgLeGaCY83d ago

You haven't played it. That much is apparent from your comment. Gameplay is FAR from slow and boring. I do agree the UI definitely needs to be re-worked. But then again, you're just repeating a complaint you're reading about, not actually experiencing.

MrNinosan83d ago

Can you show any proof you've actually played it, by sharing your PSN ID or Steam profile? Nah, guessed as much.

Gunplay is the best thing about the game. To call it bad is wrong. Just because it isn't a twitch shooter doesn't mean it's slow, not everything has to play the same. Everything else is generic I agree.

Flenter83d ago

Yes I am. But tell me ,with goty games do you play? Have you even played Marathon? If not ...S T F U!!
So sick and tired of the hate BS 🤮🤮
