
"Development on the new Idolmaster game for PlayStation 4 has “only just begun,” producer Yozo Sakagami said during a Tokyo Game Show interview.
The PlayStation 4 game will be a completely new title, rather than an extension of PlayStation 3’s The Idolmaster: One For All.
The Idolmaster was first announced for PlayStation 4 at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference last year."
Bandai Namco debuted the first gameplay, new details, and the final Japanese box art for The Idolmaster: Platinum Stars during a Niconico Chokaigi 2016 stage event.

Akihiro Ishihara, the general director of The Idolmaster series, has left Bandai Namco Entertainment, the company announced.
“There is no one reason for my leave,” Ishihara said in a blog post on The Idolmaster blog, “but one of the major reasons I’m leaving is because I want to see my own ideal IP come to form.
“I think The Idolmaster is an example of a strong IP, because it will continue even without me.
“While in the process of speaking with many of the actors/actresses and staff who love The Idolmaster, I felt like it’s already in good hands.”

Bandai Namco has sent out the official press release for The Idolmaster: Platinum Stars, its 10th anniversary Idolmaster game due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2016.
