Via the Boston Globe: It took just 10 days for video game maker Funcom Inc. to sell 400,000 copies of its newest title, Age of Conan, last month, making it one of the year's most successful debuts.
But for now, you can't play it on popular living-room consoles like Sony's PlayStation 3, Microsoft's Xbox 360, or Nintendo Wii. Age of Conan is available only on desktop computers that use Microsoft's Windows operating system. PC gamers say its success helps debunk a popular belief: That console games have crushed the PC platform.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Nice double negative there and overuse of the word "and," sir.
Great games on consoles are capable of selling a couple million copies in a day, let alone 10 days. If games like Crysis don't sell tons, and MMOs taking turns as to who is the most dominant (warcraft now, but remember evercrack???) and with people always having to upgrade their system, of course the consoles have won........they've long since won!
@ ThatArtGuy
I believe the double negative and overuse of the word "and" were done for emphasis.
@ Codeazrael
The article never said that PC gaming has won, it is discussing the myth around the decline of PC gaming.
Also, upgrading my Rig is very fun, saving enough money to buy new parts, and getting an excelled experiance.
Also games such as FPS and RTS are so much more suited to the PC than consoles. Okay, i know there are alot of people who prefer analog sticks, but there's also many who do not.
RTS for PC is hands down in my oppinion. Also MMO's are great, and they do generate a hell of alot of revenue.
The only way a console can beat a pc out of the market is if video card manufaturers stop making video cards.
Simply put it... there is demand for gaming video cards.
The only way future consoles will ever advance is if pc gaming continues to advance
This reminds me too much like the car industry.... companies like subaru, mercedes, bmw etc EXPENSIVE brands are bought from ppl with more disposible incoe hence drive these brands to inovate and create new things hence for the mainstream the new inventions will be introducted. Why do you think they have racing events.... to test market and advertise productrs to the public
Sorry but its the pc gamers that help drive the industry hence new powerful products can be created for the casual market.
except for emulators to play the old games...
