it takes 1/2 second to break apart the controller...but imagine reuniting the 2 parts..could be problematic

bad not bad at all. i dont think sony should steal the wii shape this version seems to be ok. its still the ds but it breaks into a wii type controller. im impressed i shall be getting this controller.

Looks like fun but i really can't imagine how they could solve the "reuniting the controller parts" issue. Just imagine you're in the heat of an battle and your trying to reconnect the controller parts without watching. This could lead to some unintended control problems, i guess... but on the opposite there are very great gameplay opportunities.

I just bought a damn DS3. Unless we get free upgrades then screw it

Interesting but not for me. I (as a wii & ps3 owner) for one am ready for motion control to fade away. I allways disable motion control when i am able to do so, the only time i find it remotly fun is minigames in a group setting, but that is a very very minimal part of gaming for me. I'm fine with the technology being their, but not with it being forced on us like it was on the ps3 when it first game out

I dont know if i would use it, but it looked cool. I like the original controls, i have a little hard adopting to the wiimote. Especially since they dont work perfect, neither the wiimote or the sixaxis are 100% accurate when it comes to motion sensing. And that is a big problem for me, i want it precise or else i loose my skills =(

it breaks apart a little too easy. What if your playing a game and get really excited and suddenly the controller splits into two and you have to stop and put it back together.

Dammit, if every console is going to have some stupid wii-like motion sensor i'm done with console gaming. I'm a lazy ass and I like to actually lay down and play my games and no more. I hate using the SIXAXIS because it requires too much energy for me.

I want to be able to lie down with the controllers like they are now and actually play a game like normal. I hate how all the compnaies these days are just taking advantage of every single gimmick out there and applying it to their product.

I hate motion sensors, I hate touch screens, I hate AAA or AA battery operated things, I hate baby music, I hate almost every company these days. What the hell happened to gaming?

Not to sound fanboyish, but is it just me, or since M$ came in gaming went downhill. Probably just coincidence, but gaming lost its touch after their XBox. We don't see classic games like Mario 64 or Star Fox 64, or Ocarina of Time. Nothing is fun anymore. Everything is about shooting aliens or shooting terrorists. We have games like Oblivion but that's nothing like zelda.

I want games where you have one objective. To save a princess or something. Where there's x amount of temples(no huge number of 50 temples) and all those temples give you certain rewards to help you in the next one. Something VERRRRYYY similar to Zelda on the 64. Nowadays its about how many hours the game is, how many endings it has, how many weapons are in it..

Dammit worry about how fun it is, not how much stuff is in it. The only truly epic game we've gotten this gen is MGS4. It's got enough story to make it epic. Make another game with as much story and be as much fun when you play, it'll be epic.

Err... wait... the reviewers will mark that game down for not being evolved and not enough like it's competition. Nobody tries to do something new anymore... the law of the land is the Reviewers. Like someone said a few days ago, mix up the words of the intro to be related to reviewers, and it won't be too different.

I'll bet my two nuts, that this is fake. The reason being, that there is no change to the utter crap dualshock design. They really need to make improvements on the design.

I originally was disgusted when I heard about it....but it actually seems pretty cool.However it does bother me that both sony and ms can't come up with original ideas of their own.Sony is definitely capable they have a lot of bright peeps working for them and I think home is very unique.Luckily it's not a remote so it's not really a full on cop-out.I have to say ...I'll probably pick this controller up if/when it comes out.

Did you notice how he had to look at the controller to put it back together. That is not going to work. I like the break apart idea but it's a bad idea in this version. So many people will die just trying to put the thing back together LOL.

it's just another piece to lose. Suppose you set the two pieces down to step outside. I could see people losing the left half of their controller. Not much use then, unless you want it for a conversation piece.

sixaxis was a joke and never used to its potential, the 360 vision cam was never used as promised, the eyetoy is a waste and im scared that both ms and sony are trying to force motion now becuase wii is crushing them . SO ms and sony are trying to cash in and they both might flop, bring out a few games, maybe 1 or 2 use it well and then they will stop focusing on it. i hope this isnt all for nothing.

Now that Jim Ryan is gone just need to remove Herman Hulst from his position! And maybe give Shuhei the position he deserved.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
