And another Star Wars game bites the dust! Unfortunately, the Star Wars Commander mobile game is shutting down in June.
This is why I don't spend money on 99% of mobile games. The only games I've spent money on are Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. I remember playing this in 2016 for about 4 months then it got really buggy and sluggish. I'm sure it was a good run for some people.
Zynga has cut a multiyear deal with Disney to make a future Star Wars game, giving the publisher access to one of the biggest licenses in the gaming industry. As part of the non-exclusive licensing deal, Zynga will take over live operations for the existing mobile tower defense game Star Wars: Commander, a 2014 release. And Zynga’s NaturalMotion studio in the United Kingdom will develop future Star Wars titles, with an option for a second.
Platforms such as Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad) control the bulk of the mobile market. Chances are, you or someone you know owns at least one device powered by one of those two platforms. Being a mobile gamer today and a fan of the legacy in a galaxy far, far away is a good thing to be. The question is, has it always been this good for fans of the story George Lucas started?
