Ninja Theory Working on Unannounced, Original IP

In a correction to a previous press release sent out today, Ninja Theory added a very interesting line. The original information about the company contained information that stated it was still working on the original Heavenly Sword. However, the correction clearly states that they are working on a new, unannounced IP.

With GOW3 on the horizon.....try something new. GOW has taken over the genre where it sleeps. Ready to press "circle button" on any that stand in it`s way.

Looks like thats their plan

TANOD6565d ago

GOW3 IS THE KING IN THAT GENRE

YOU SAW THE FATE OF NINJA GAIDEN 2 SO BETTER JUST LEAVE IT TO GOW3 AND MOVE ON WITH SOMETHING NEW

HighDefinition6565d ago

GOW is to EPIC. The one for the PSP is better than anything on 360 or PS3.

Including...
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma or 2
-Heavenly Sword

With that said I still like HS, but it`s not EPIC like GOW. The feel of GOW has never been duplicated. IMO.

....i thought heavenly sword WAS god of war 3...

KillaManiac6565d ago

George....Your loosing it man...

GOW>HS anyday.... HS is fun, but come on there isn't even a JUMP!

deeznuts6565d ago

Were you going around telling people Heavenly Sword = GOW3?

But I thought George Washington never told a lie.

BISHOP-BRASIL6565d ago (Edited 6565d ago )

Don't forget Devil May Cry 4. Better than Ninja Gaiden and Heavenly Sword, but people tend to try and put this one in some other genre, which os not the case... I think it's a misunderstood because you can make heavy use of firearms on DMC or maybe because this is "just more multiplat" now...

Anyway, DMC4 is a match for GOW... I would not say better, I really liked my little Chains Of Olympus, but come on, DMC4 is great!

THEY SAID THAT BACK AT GDC IF I AM NOT WRONG

dxmnecro6565d ago (Edited 6565d ago )

They said that they were working on an original IP, but did not mention anything about Heavenly Sword 2. The update mentions that they are working on an "original IP" and states nothing about Heavenly Sword. With a title as big as Heavenly Sword, you would think that they would at least mention its development in their company's info.

Makidian6565d ago

They did say that, they also said they were working on an original multi-plat IP. They also said they would have nothing to do with HS because Sony owns the it. That being said I hope they still make HS and the God of War team does it after they finish 3

HighDefinition6565d ago

But like I said GOW3 will quickly heal that pain.

Heavenly Sword could come back in the near future, possibly.

Veryangryxbot6565d ago

Thats why they lead the gaming industry.

Xbots are quick to laugh and troll when HS2 was canned. But they laugh prematurely as always. They do not know the full story yet proceed to laugh and bash like some stupid idiot.

Thats why people call them stupid monkeys.

Rather than wasting money on HS2 which will probably not sell, Sony and co are using the same funds to find the next MGS4.

OWNED!

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman51d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
