Nintendo Is Doing DLC Right

N247 Writes: Ever since the last gaming generation, Downloadable Content has become an integral part of gaming. Adding optional new content to games for people to purchase is a wonderful idea, but it has gotten to the point where developers are cutting out content from a completed game and selling it as DLC. At this point, there are few developers/publishers that have been keeping DLC as it should be; Nintendo is one of those cases.

Agree 100%. Hopefully Ninty is able to keep this up.

Yeah so far the DLC I have for Pikmin 3 luigiU and Soon to have for MK8 is a good price and the DLC content has also been very good. I paid £40 for the BF4 DLC which made the game £95 when I got it and for me it really was not worth that much.

I hope Nintendo Keep doing DLC this way and it could also be a good way to make games like MarioU 2 where they add the 2nd game as DLC like they did for luigiU.

Yep. Hope Smash is getting DLC as well.

Im pretty sure Smash is getting DLC, just curious as to how they will go about doing it.

absolutely, Nintendo, R* and ND

Rockstar cant make the list as long as they keep making it harder and harder to make money in GTA V to sell their microtransactions. They used to be one of the best DLC supporters too.

I was pretty damn surprised by the Mari kart DLC. good for them. They also make great HD remakes, or at least one. Why haven't they made more?

Metallox4269d ago

No more rehashes. We need the old Nintendo back and many people can't stop their Majora's Mask petitions.

KaladinStormblessed4269d ago (Edited 4269d ago )

I agree, the DLC pack is such a good deal. 6 new characters, 6 karts/parts or something like that and 16 tracks all for only $12. No brainer right there.

Best 2D, Mario World, best 3D, Mario 64. Can't say there's been a bad one, although Mario World 2 wasn't a true sequel. The Mario Land games were good (not the first one) and also Wario Land. I thought after Mario 64, Mario 3D World was excellent.

Interview: Patricia Summersett on voicing Princess Zelda for nearly a decade

Believe it not, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is almost ten years old. It was a massive game for many reasons – it launched alongside Nintendo Switch, was a new take for the series by going fully open-world, and introduced various aspects like voice acting in a mainline game for the characters.
