Again a really good read from DSO. Lenghty interview and interesting questions. Also, the gameplay looks so damn nice!

Ashunderfire864193d ago

Yeah great interview on the tech side of things. An Xbox One day One game for me! Can't wait it comes out.

D-riders4193d ago

Why post what system you are getting it on. No one cares you have a xboxone. As a matter of fact most of the people who have ps4 are probably looking at you like my version will look and play better than yours.

imXify4192d ago

@D-Riders

It would be better if you just don't say anything.

starchild4193d ago

Yeah, i like most of their interviews. They ask relevant questions.

SaturdayNightBeaver4193d ago (Edited 4193d ago )

John is always straight with the main concerns, and yet ubisoft is giving us the same answers all the time, remember when he did interview on AC4 and WatchDogs , same promises were given about multithreading and PC port , none were true.

I'm still on the fence about this new AC. Black Flag was solid overall, but it wasn't a game that got me excited. Here's hoping Ubisoft nails it this time with Unity, I want an AC that keeps me interested throughout the whole experience like ACII did.

Great read. N4g needs more of these.

Really looking forward to the game. The world looks astonishing. To all those people who join these new "downgrade" hate bandwagons, AC games are never downgraded. Every AC game is graphically stunning. I can't think of one AC game that wasn't stunning for its time.

Can't wait!

starchild4193d ago

Very true. All AC games have had exceptional graphics for their time, especially for the open world standard. None of them have been downgraded either.

Mark my words, Assassin's Creed Unity will be one of the best looking games for quite some time. Certainly the best looking game releasing this year.

skulz74191d ago

Yep, when AC 1 was released on new gen back then, I was stunned. Unity will be no different.

Ubisoft CEO Explains Three-Year Plan to Revamp Game Publisher Through New ‘Creative House’ Strategy

“Assassin’s Creed” publisher Ubi soft is trying to emerge from a rocky few years. CEO Yves Guillemot breaks down the new strategy for success.

Well it will come down to the games. Hopefully they live up in o expectation.

“Ubi soft is trying to emerge from a rocky few years“

^ THIS after Ubisoft’s fluff pieces about how great they are doing after Assassins, Attack on Titan and laying offs. The hype fell the floor apparently.

Agent758h ago

I was a bit gutted with The Division, too many bells and whistles like Far Cry. Never rated Prince of Persia or The Crew. Rayman, it’s too long in the tooth, lay it to rest.

PRIMORDUS8h ago

Far Cry and Assassin's Creed, this is all Ubishit can make. It would be better if Ubishit just close down, and sell their other IP's, like Splinter Cell, Beyond Good and Evil, etc. Far Cry and Assassin's Creed can just die, that is enough.

Analysts on Ubisoft cost-cutting and the myth of 'sustainable growth'

They should just make games. That sounds crazy, I know, but, hear me out.

No need for dev-times to.take 3+ years. Just stick to formula. Not every game needs to be bigger & better than everything else. Not every game needs to be GaaS. Not every game needs to completely re-invent the wheel.

They KNOW how to make a cool Splinter Cell game; Interesting story, 8-10 levels, just go and make it. Give the people want they know, want and love. It doesn't need to be a shared online experience. It doesn't need to be an epic big open world. It doesn't need celebrity voice-acting. Just make a cool new SC game, and the fans will be happy and pick it up. Easy. Done. Next one.

Same for Prince of Persia, Watch-Dogs, Assassin's Creed, Trials, Rayman, Brothers in Arms, etc.

It was the Switch 2 version that drove the sales.

MayorPauline8d ago

Makes sense as it released on the Switch 2 within the time frame Ubisoft listed up above. It didnt just jump up for nothing. Not sure why people disagree with you but I have two pretty good guesses as to why. 😆

Gamersunite8807d ago

I know. I'm just telling the truth. Lol

PRIMORDUS8d ago

Same shit year after year. Ubishit just leave the industry.

PrecursorOrb8d ago

Financial growth creates more and more layoffs. I always forget about that one

mastershredder7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Riiiight. Let’s pretend that Assassins creed Shadows was a major success (rinse repeat different setting, same assassins creed stuff with bs “new” features) . The game has been practically half off since release.
All their number are from the holiday sales, and Shadows is selling well under what they expected to sell it for. Let’s recap: The second expansion was scrapped, as was the season pass, the co-op was canceled (seriously guys wtf?) and any dlc was downsized in scale effort (Attack on Titan, did not help either, just say’n). This was all a result of recent poor reception/performance in sales and Ubisoft literally downsized, restructured production because of it. If this is success, they are going to have big problems next quarter.

Don’t believe the hype.
