Yahoo Saved by Google - Yeah That's Right

GamingShogun writes, "According to various sources, Yahoo has signed a deal with Google in order to save its own skin. What it is, basically, is an advertising partnership where Yahoo would use Google's search operations to funnel advertising onto its own site. This is estimated to bring upwards of $800 million dollars a year to Yahoo..."

MS = bad :(

Google = good :)

GiantEnemyCrab6542d ago

Yes, Google is great if you don't care about your privacy on the internet. If you don't mind them pointing a satellite at your house and taking pictures and then setting up shop with NASA and the US government.

Breakfast6542d ago

That's still not worse then MS stealing from the poor.

C_SoL6542d ago

That's like Sony coming and saying: "Hey Microsoft, we know you make faulty hardware and do nothing but buy exclusive third-party software, but we can't operate without you, so here's some millions and lets keep it going"

This is almost like in a parallel universe or something. Where Heidi Klum is viewed upon like Rosie O' Donnell and Rosie O' Donnell is a super model.

Google can Take a Satellite picture of my Bare ass any day!

Bleyd6542d ago

MS is doing the same thing with maps. It just so happens that Google did it first.

Then there's the other thing you're forgetting too.

No one cares!

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman23d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
