Rampaging mutants, trigger-happy armies and butchered civilians. New York gets terrorised yet again, but this time you're not the one coming to the rescue…
Gamers can be a nasty bunch. It's not that gamers are some morally corrupt sub-culture (not unless you believe the Daily Mail that is), it's just that a world without repercussion really does seem to bring out the worst in everyone. If you put a player in control of a car, and plonk a gaggle of pedestrians in front of him, his first thought will inevitably be "let's paint the pavement red" (this macabre impulse even forms the basis for an entire game – Carmaggedon).
So what turns us gamers into such bastards whenever a control pad is plonked into our hands? Perhaps it's the same morbid fascination that slows down traffic around car crashes. Or maybe it's some dark impulse caused by the constraints and trappings of modern society. Whatever the reason is (and before this preview turns into a National Geographic article), players behave badly in games which allow them to get away with it, and this assumption is one of the core elements of Radical's new open-world extravaganza Prototype.

From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Batman: Arkham City to breakout hit Dispatch and new Marvel Cosmic Invasion, these are 10 of the best superhero games you can play today.

Not all video game protagonists are sweet, jolly, or wholesome. Folks like Agent 47 are cold, ruthless, and reserved and it shows.
Ah, fond memories of strangling all the people in their hotel rooms in Hitman 1
Lara Croft, Nathan Drake etc, cos they pretend to be the good guys but are mass murderers that show no remorse.

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
