Dead Island 2 or Dying Light? Decisions, decisions.

I remember getting dead island on offer when it went cheap on ps3 , best £20 (or was it £10?) I spent , good game for me , good fun game , so this should be awesome.

Really cool, but why release it so close to Dying Light? which is almost the same game

Well if I have to base my opinion of this vs Dying Light just off of the trailers i'll put it like this, I had no idea what Dying Light was until I watched the trailer afterwards, I decided that will be a day one buy for me. I played Dead Island, hated it, watched the trailer for this and it still seems exactly the same but with a new studio. I have high hopes for Dying Light, because the devs even said the first Dead Island wasn't what they wanted to make. Dying Light is gonna be their masterpeice if it continues down the path its going now. This just looks meh.

liked Dead Island but had many issues; riptide didnt make any improvements over the original Dead Island - so will wait and see. Definitely not a pre-order but will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I like the concept of parkour and zombies, but I would rather have Dead Island 2 over Dying Light due to the atmosphere and landscape of California and the possibilities in its open world. Also love the bright colours, rather then the usual dark and gritty colours.

It looks great but I'm going to hold off buying until I see the reviews/player opinions because the first game was decent, but was ruined by the sheer amount of bugs.

I'm not sure what to make of this. The bright colours are fitting to the location, but that along with the crazy looking, almost Dead Rising style, weapons it seems very arcade-ish. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I was just expecting something more gritty.

The Gore and Co-Op is what interests me in this, looks great.

can anyone tell me it dead island games come with any kind of co-op campaign or survival mode?

I like it. Only issues is this and Dying Light are out within a few short months of each other. Both by deep silver and both using same engine and combat ect.

In case you're a little confused between Dead Island 2 and Dying Light:

Dying Light is the same studio as Dead Island 1 BUT different publisher. Dead Island 2 is a different developer but same publisher: Deep Silver.

Dead Island/Riptide: developed by Techland, published by Deep Silver.
Dying Light: developed by Techland, published by Warner Bros.
Dead Island 2: developed by Yaeger, published by Deep Silver.

The funny thing is however: Dying Light looks a lot like a sequel of Dead Island, they use the same models, physics, upgrade system etc. While Dead Island 2 looks like a totally different game (different physics, upgrade system ánd 8-player co-op!).

Techland totally ruined Dead Island/Riptide with their bug fiasco. So I definitely will NOT get Dying Light. It looks just like Dead Island, but with free running. Dead Island 2 on the other hand is a different studio and looks like a totally different game.

I will pick Dead Island 2 over Dying Light for sure! Also: Dead Island 2 will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and be next-gen only! Dying light is still cross-gen. I'm sick of cross-gen games ruining the next-gen experience. Another PLUS for Dead Island 2!

The bugs in Dead Island & Riptide were just part of the games charm, just as it was with The Saboteur, one of my favorite games last gen.

Dying Light will be awesome as will Dead Island 2 but I think Dying light will be the darker experience whereas Dead Island 2 ( stupid name now ) will be more of a fun experience.

Both are day one for me, without a doubt although I expect them to be 7/10 games, well, 8/10 for dying light.
