No they aren't, but the quantity are decreasing from year to year.

Anyway, can't wait for Persona 5, Bravely Second, Demon Gaze 2, Oreshika, and Ar Nosurge. Those will enough to satisfy my hunger for turn based RPG.

Who is to say turn-based games are outdated? It's a genre just like action and shooter games. Meaning there is a market for them. I personally prefer turn-based systems.

I like combat mission style games, and now they added a "we go" option and others have added a pause anytime. Also jaded alliance type of games are the best for me. Xcom too.

I'm playing Ni no Kuni at the moment, and while it is a damn fine game I would have preferred it to have been turn based, just so you didn't have to keep helping the ai to stay alive in the boss battles. The ai is certainly not its strong point, being turn based would have helped out immensely, or at least some option to.

As earlier posters have expressed, it was the main genre when you mentioned the words RPG; you expect a role playing game where everybody takes a turn to play.
Role playing games have evolved and have included action based gameplay with elements of the main genre, farming for items, grinding, etc...
There's a demand for both games and most HD remakes requests tend to be in favor for turn based JRPGs.
Square Enix just found success again for what they were known for, a turn based RPG in the form of Bravely Default.

I have never been a fan of turn based combat. But some games really call for it. I had so much fun with the golden sun series, I played through mario and luigi dream team.
Final fantasy was never a game I could get into.

it sucks because i can't stand when they are not turn based final fantasy lost the fantasy/magical part about the game was the control not just button mashing where you can't tell whats going on... lost oddessey was the last turn based game ive played and id buy part 2 in a second, as for final fantasy they can keep making lightning games all they want it just shows how lost they are.

I'm currently playing and enjoying Divinity. Original Sin. Some other games off the top of my head are Lost Odyssey, Resonance of Fate plus more i can't remember. They're just much more enjoyable to play, because you're not forced to make a decision on a timer.

I'm glad that Torment: Tides of Numenera will be true turn based, but also saddened that Pillars of Eternity will be realtime combat.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
