I'm very interested in watching this. When I played this game, I was just starting to play games, and the Atari 2600 was my first system. As such, I forgave this game because I was still memorized by the ability to control E.T. Now that I'm an adult, I'm more critical of games because I expect more from them.
Will this movie be free to view on Xbox, or will I have to pay to rent it?

I believe it's free to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers...it looks like it will be a great movie.

The Atari E.T. buried cartridge story was a legendary almost-myth of gamer culture. In a way it feel the dig spoils the mysterious story gamers all shared.

I am looking forward to watching this although the programme is based on all the good work done by blogger whose name is now forgotten by history. Major Nelson was on site at the dig and tweeted loads of pics with his face in them, I'd prefer it if the doc is presented by someone else.

I thought it was just a myth until I saw the cartridges.

same here, i heard of it in magazines when I was a kid and wow when i saw it on youtube I was like wow!

Given that we're talking about a few thousand, not tens or hundreds of thousands least alone a million, it still is.

Just that, unlike Al Capone's vault, something was found.

I want to watch it, but do you need an Xbox to do so? Or will their website host it too?
