WiiWare will fail.

"WiiWare was a great idea for Nintendo to use. Smaller developers now have the ability to sidestep some of the things that hold them back, Gamers now have the opportunity to buy games at a much lower price without profits being hurt, and Nintendo has a chance to grow more 3rd party support and showcase future stars with first access to them.

Well at least that seemed to be the case. Nintendo is amidst the beginnings of a huge failure, and while lack of storage space is huge, it is only part of the problem. The other side of this problem's coin is Nintendo's attitude. Got that Nintendo? You need to make an adjustment."

I'm not going to delete stuff every time I want to download something. It's going to take an exceptional game for me to go through all that.

They need to address the storage space issue. Also, they need to losen up on what developers they allow to make wiiware games. They allow just about any junk shovelware game, so why not any old wiiware game? We could be missing out on some great ideas.

Sweet avatar man I love samurai showdown! Have you seen the new one? it has a new look too. They are pretty loose about the developers you just have to be sure no one can just walk off with the development hardware. That's the flaw most of these guys have that stops them from being approved.

Can anyone else read the article?

For some strange reason the link seems to be erratic. I have no idea why sometimes out of the clear blue it doesn't work for a few minutes, but most of the time it does. There's no other address I could give it in any case. Sorry for the frustration.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996) Still Feels Like Peak 90s Star Wars

This game along with Rogue Squadron got me into to Star Wars. The release of special edition VHS Star Wars collection was perfectly times on top of all that. 😆

Because it is.

Please re-release this.

SimpleSlave57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

But it wasn't. Although I do agree that some of the tie-in media, like the novels and comics, were pretty good.

Still, games like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, and the space sims were peak 90s Star Wars. Shadows fell flat because of the abysmal controls and unimaginative levels. And if you wanted to really experience the seedy side of the universe, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 was peak, and it wasn't even close.

Regardless, and much to my dismay, we got the better version thanks to Ubislop in Outlaws, which is what Shadows should've been, albeit at a smaller scale.

As a kid me and my cousins loved this game . I have great memories with this one and the Star Wars pod racer game .
