Back in 2013, the staff at long-running gaming site 1up.com announced that it would be closing down and the site would be archived. However, looking up the domain now only nets you this screen.

This looks like something both fans and collectors can enjoy. Arcade1Up’s Atari Legacy Edition game machines, including Centipede and Tempest, are now available on Atari.com.

"For those who found a home and community on 1UP, it was a harsh realization that the coverage of video games was changing, and not exactly for the better." - Blair at Electric Bento
Man... I loved 1up.com. I was on there daily. The layout was awesome. I made friends on 1up that I still have now. It sucked when it was shut down.

"Man, a game with a floating disembodied old man head has our early vote for the next Game of The Year folks! You heard it here first! Oh and Sony did show off their latest console to help usher in the next generation for video games, the PlayStation 4. Among the talk we’ve got some emails with some late confessions, thoughts towards Aliens: Colonial Marines, and we share our condolences for our favorite game enthusiast/journalism and media website on the internet-1UP.com. Jeremy Parish and company continued the legacy after so many have left and we indulge on why 1UP was so important to all of us. Rate and subscribe to us iTunes today and be sure to stop by at our Forums and register as well!"

Pretty sad. I remember this site being rather good and informative. Best of luck to the authors and staff of 1UP!
Finally. This site was loaded with Playstation hatred back in the day. There was a burning hatred for Playstation and they constantly wrote opinion pieces slamming Sony and Sony fans everywhere they could. The comments section was just as bad/even worse.
The site is still up and running just fine
Although the 1up.com site is devoid of new content it is currently still online as of 7/16/14.
Yet another example of poor gaming journalism. How difficult is it to fact check a story of this caliber?
Great job dualshockers.
The site is still online for me, just read their review of Luigi's Mansion 2.
