Demo: Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

From NextGen Player:

"I'm a big Civilization fan, in fact I'm a big fan of most of the Sid Meier's Game library. Needless to say I was excited at the download demo, now available on the XBox Live Marketplace, for Civilization Revolution.

If your used to the keyboard shortcuts, your out of luck this time but you won't be disappointed. The jump from the PC to the console was actually much better for Civilization then it was for the Railroad Tycoon franchise (Playstation) offering intuitive controls and easy to use features for fortifying units, grouping units to form an army, and map movements."

Once again it looks better on the xbox 360 than it does on the ps3. Much smoother than the Ps3's jaggied edged picture in 1080P.

SUP3R6548d ago

That isn't even what the review is based on.

Silogon6548d ago

I ahve both ps3 and xbox 360 and played both demos on my 1080p tv and the xbox 360 in 720p looks better than the ps3's version in 1080p. As usual.

Darkiewonder6548d ago

lol. what's wrong? the 360 won't output the demo at 1080p? It must be using all it's resource to not get RROD lawlz.

Omegasyde6548d ago

Silogon,

Why the $^@#^ bring up a stupid comparison? Are you that much of a troll? And who cares about which version is better in a DEMO OF A GAME THAT IS NOT YET FINISHED. Let alone is a strategy game in which fans will care more about substance and gameplay over graphics.

Silogon = Failure

ASSASSYN 36o6547d ago

Wow jump on silogon for stating his opinion of a comparison but if it was the other way around you sony boys wouldn't cry foul. Hypocrites.

anyways i enjoyed the demo on ps3 i even thou it feels really basic from the computer civ that everyone is so used to playing it still works good with a controller instead of the mouse and keyboard....it will just take u a lil longer to get things done...so if u like Civ then this is a buy !!!

Britjadg6548d ago (Edited 6548d ago )

where'd you get the demo from? i was looking for it last night on psn and couldn't find it anywhere in store.

really gay as i'd wanted to chill out with it last night.

Snukadaman6548d ago

the game isn't graphics based as many fps and other genres...I must say it is a great game though with alot of minutia. I like that there are different ways to play this game. You wont go wrong no matter what console you get this for.

JDW6548d ago (Edited 6548d ago )

I think i'll stick with the big boys version.

Snarko6548d ago

The demo was quite fun, but the gamespeed is way to fast for me. Tech progress needs to be slowed down signifiantly for me to really enjoy this game. Im still buying it for my ps3 though..

J@D6547d ago

Same here. The demo was really good if u ask me.

5 Criminally Underplayed Games That Need More Love

Dorkly: "History is written by the winners, and that applies to games, too. While we hold up our post-apocalyptic wasteland adventures, period piece assassinations and Liberty City crime sprees on a pedestal, we would do well to remember the little guys. These underseen, criminally underplayed games didn't do well critically or commercially, but they were still wonderful experiences. Here's a small list of recommendations of unsung heroes of the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii era."

Alpha Protocol had so much potential. I'd really like to see another spy rpg.

Tex1174103d ago

Alpha Protocol has some fantastic ideas in its conversation and story progression due to choices. I really enjoyed my time with it.

A spy rpg can be done with amazing results if handled correctly.

InMyOpinion4103d ago

I would add 007: Bloodstone to the list. That game was criminally underrated.

WizzroSupreme4103d ago

Okami, Beyond Good and Evil, Chibi-Robo!, and Pikmin should be among these.

God Hand

Partly because I just recently discovered it and its insane.

What a gold nugget.

'Civilization': A brief history of just one more turn

XMNR: 2K Games and Firaxis Games officially unveiled “Civilization: Beyond Earth” at a PAX East, which ended Sunday. The storied franchise heads for the stars for the second time in its twenty-three year history but the history of Sid Meier’s just-one-more-turn creation is as interesting as the games themselves.
