It was always going to be Messi. Don't EA have some kind of deal with him that he will be on the covers till a certain year? Can't remember for sure. Personally id like to see the likes of Rues, Gotze, neymar...

Meh, I was hoping for German players.

Will the pc version at least be on par with next gen versions?? We got the shaft last year since EA decided to favor next gen.

Messi was a bad choice and this cover sucks. I would've picked a goalie blocking the ball or a penalty kick attempt.

I really miss the multiple players on the cover thing that there used to be. Didn't it use to be that they would have their main guy like Messi in the middle, one guy from each localized territory and then another player who may have been voted in by popular choice? That was so much cooler than this.

The covers of the FIFA games should be regional again or at least do not feature Messi. I am sick of this guy, can't see his stupid face anymore, he is absolutely overrated by now and did not deserve the golden ball at the WC.

But since everybody knows Messi, even the once who do not watch football in general, it draws their attention to maybe buy it and as we all know money is what EA longs for, as well as the FIFA does. I would prefer german players on my "german" version of the game again.

one of the most overrated players ever , each time he wins a golden ball the criteria for the award changes to fit what he has done through out the years even at his worst season ( very very bad season ) he nearly won the award that alone is a proof the people can be at the same intellectual level as goats or donkeys they just follow what OTHERS say .

A few things here.

I already pre-ordered it a month ago. I love me some FIFA although the aids pisses me off.

Messi on the cover again is well deserved because no one is on his individual level. Ronaldo only won best player in the world because Messi was injured.

About the world cup, the only other player that could have won it was Meuller. James Rodriguez was a top scorer but since when does top scorer mean best player? There are other stats to take into consideration. If we want to talk specifics, the 6th goal he scored was via penalty which wasn't one to begin with therefore he should have tied with meuller. Messi did an incredible job for the level of team he had. Meuller has an entire amazing German squad and although Argentina does have some good players, most of the team is unknown at the top level. Given that he performed extraordinarily well with a team the did surprisingly well for not being in the top tier, he deserves the award but Meuller did a fantastic job too.

This has always been the problem with Fifa games. They seem to lack ambition in trying something new.
