Microsoft definitely have a better holiday season.

Kingthrash3604345d ago

What?...
Well that's an unexplained opinion....kinda like saying shorts are better than pants, without saying " when its hot".

NewMonday4345d ago

If the XBone getting outsold by more than 100% in America alone is "winning" what does losing look like?

Ballsack4345d ago

These articles make you wonder about journalism

Xbox one is doing just fine not as well as Ms would like but they are ok and have some stellar games coming this year

What sense does this article make? Xbox one is getting outsold not only in the States but worldwide

Two of the biggest gaming publishers EA and ubisoft have both stated they sell more software on the ps4 platform

The most awarded game of all time is due soon for those who never got to play it. Drive club looks insane plus the list of other games due to be released this year plus destiny

This article reeks of desperation in the face of facts

98xpresent4345d ago

Compared it to the PS4 lineup.

choujij4344d ago

That's the thing. If we're going to ignore everything like sales, hardware performance, public perception etc. and only look at which one has "better" games coming out this year, than the answer is simply subjective.

turdburgler10804344d ago

I always wear shorts. Way better then pants. Pants are so restrictive and make you hot. Its got to be freezing for me to even consider pants.

That's all subjective just like this podcast! As we should all well know; Each gamer should be looked as an individual, who made a console purchase based on a choice! Just because a game garner multi-million in sales on any platform doesn't automatically mean it's the best game! It just means more gamers prefer to play said game over what's available.

Just at certain trends where there are gamers who only invest their time, and money into only buying and playing FPS! Or look at racing enthusiast, does that qualify the games they are playing as the best!? Or are they they the best in line with their preference!? Or are they just the best in line with what's available !?

To put it simple it's all subjective.

Flamingweazel4345d ago

How? Ps4 already has way more games in 2014 and the holiday is not changing that.

sales wise ps4 is in a league of its own, wii-u and x1 are fighting for scraps.

wardestroyr4345d ago

Am I the only one withered by the constant flamebait articles from no name blogs and websites popping up on N4G in the last year?

It seem's every day that completely obvious trolling ''articles'' are being submitted solely with the goal of making a name for some crap site that disappears after a few months.

BabyTownFrolics4344d ago

Without them there would be nothing for fanboys to fight about and this site would cease to be relevant.

At this point I assume that most of the people on here are the same folks who work on these crap sites just pretending to fight with each for hits.

I come here for the front page to see if there is any news I missed, but at this point one could just go to neogaf and find the same info that will eventually become thousands of N4G articles hours before the articles appear.

DrKarateChop4344d ago

Hey champ, I work on the site.

It's a podcast, not an article.

Way to go.

King Of The Crap Site,

N4g is supposed to be checking this stuff out but it seems like they are too busy getting the week old ham sandwich out of the vending machine in their office hallway.

MysticStrummer4345d ago

"Microsoft definitely have a better holiday season."

You definitely think MS has a better holiday season. Others feel differently.

OT - No, MS isn't winning 2014 in any objective way.

How do you you actually define winning? Because on the face of it the answer is no. They aren't winning 2014. Ask NPD. Therefore it would be make more sense to ask "Does Microsoft have the Better Holiday Lineup?" Thats something we can speculate.

MightyNoX4345d ago

Reassurance Article #2048282, my friend. This Thursday's NPD should be hilarious to watch.

mkis0074345d ago

Well just based on the sales at my Costco store, (where I work)which has a ps4 $489 ps plus +controller bundle and a $385 xbox one console, I will easily say that the 12 ps4 bundles we have sold since June 20th vs the 2 xbox ones sold in the same amount of time doesn't bode well for MS.

Yes I know it is costco, but both are available, right next to each other no less, so it is a decent comparison.

KinjoTakemura4345d ago

They aren't number 1 in software sales.
They aren't number 1 in hardware sales.
Microsoft is winning... the battle for last place...

King_of_Nothing4345d ago (Edited 4345d ago )

And with each sale, your level of enjoyment while playing your games increases, right? /s

Spotie4344d ago

What does level of enjoyment have to do with sales?

Why all the deflection?

johndoe112114344d ago

Your name kinda reflects microsoft's position right now.

King_of_Nothing4344d ago (Edited 4344d ago )

@Spotie: Thats exactly my point, so maybe I should ask you the same thing? Many people here throw around sales numbers as if it's end all justification of why a system is better. Pretty sure most of us purchased whichever system to play games, not compare sales data. What do I care how many units Sony or MSFT push if the games I enjoy keep coming to the system of my choosing?

@Johndoe11211: Just as your name reflects your position as another indistinguishable face in the crowd among the countless other snarky groupthink riddled N4G posters.

"Be creative 99% of the time" – Glen Schofield on how creativity can help fix AAA industry woes

The Callisto Protocol director thinks the solution involves the right people, the right timing, and perhaps a little bit of AI

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman49d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
