PlayStation Network Getting Head-Tracked Avatars with Project Morpheus

VRFocus - Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has often talked about applications of virtual reality (VR) outside of the immediate videogame experience. The company has been keen to discuss its ‘social screen’ initiative for its Project Morpheus VR headset for PlayStation 4, detailing potential multiplayer plans in which one player uses the headset while others use a TV screen. Now the company has revealed another use for the device: head-tracked avatars via the PlayStation Network.

"...social applications for Project Morpheus, including the social screen idea, companion apps such as those for The Deep and Street Luge, and head-tracked avatars."

As interesting as these sound, I think more games beyond the asynchronous multiplayer headset/TV idea are in order. The games will make Morpheus integral to Playstation.

I wonder how well this would do with Playstation Home?

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
