Growing Up Sega: Genesis

From the article, "It was a Friday night and my Dad, my step sister, step-Mom, and I took a trip to Toys R Us. The closest one at the time was a good half-hour drive, and I had no idea what was so important that we had to make this trek right now. When we got there, my Dad made a bee-line for the video game aisle with the rest of us in tow. As it turns out, there was a new Sega system that had just come out, and it came with this amazing looking game with a stupid sounding name. It was something about hedgehogs.

At the time, I didn’t know the Sega Genesis actually released a couple years prior, as nobody around us carried it."

My first console was the NES. My dad surprised my bro and I with it and 2 games: TMNT and Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (the latter probably not the best game for a 5 year old).

Then a friend of mine down the street introduced me to this wonderful black console called the Sega Genesis and I had to have it. So we saved up for one.
