PS2, until the PS4 takes over

The Dreamcast holds a special place in my heart

If I'm going on nostalgia I'd say the PS2 and the NES as a close second. But in reality, I have to say the PS3 was the best console. PS3 brought so many new experiences to the table, and had the best multimedia functions such as the ability to play CD, DVD, BluRay and MP3.

You had some of the great PS2 games like God of War 1 & 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Killzone, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Metal Gear Solid 1,2 & 3 and GTA 3, VC & SA that were brought over to the PS3, and you have online functionality that allowed you to play with or compete against more people than ever before.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 1 & 2, Resistance 1 & 2, God of War 3, Rainbow Six Vegas, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Killzone 2 & 3, Infamous, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty WaW, Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2, Battlefield 1943, The Darkness, Heavenly Sword, Red Dead Redemption were all magical experiences to me, which remain unmatched on any other console that I've played to this day.

I don't knew any guys but to me, it was Sega mega drive. I mean, it gave me the most awesome games and special memories ever!

Believe it or not but I also loved my Sega Game Gear.

Keep dreaming. PS4 won't have the same kind of 3rd party support the PS2 had.

Mine would be the original Xbox simply for the fact it's the system I played Morrowind on, and that is my favourite game of all time, that and my favourite shooter Halo. Good memories from that console, though Snes and Ps2 probably had far better libraries.

SNES greatest machine of all time, however that could just be my age shining through

joab7774339d ago

I got a Nintendo for xmas the yr it released and have had the snes, N64, PS1 2,3,4, GameCube, Sega Dreamcast, an xbox and an xbox 360.

Now, each one holds a special place in my heart (skies of Acadia and Resident evil on dreamcast were unreal). But, if I had to choose, had to, it would be the 360. And I bought a ps3 at launch and played most games on it.

But, its the impact the 360 has had on console gaming that makes it number 1. B/c of it, we have what we have today in the PS4 and the soon PS Now. Today, we fame with players all over the world. Yes, pc gaming did it first but b/c of the 360, it has become commonplace. It gave us party chat and an achievement system. We got avatars, and the ability to stream all types of content.

If I had to choose 1 system only, it would b the ps4 with psnow, but it is the 360 that is the reason we game like we do.

xbox is no ones favorites console.

First we read the article....then we comment on it.

Seems you got the second part down...just need to work on that first part.....the reading part. It's really the most important part.

Otherwise you end up looking like an idiot. (Oooopps...too late!!!)

Fluchtpunkt4338d ago

Simple:

Colecovision.
Neo Geo.
PC Engine.

That was the real shit, kids.

medman4338d ago

For me, it's the NES first, mostly because it was the console of my childhood and videogames for me as a kid were wonders of amazement and that feeling just can't be matched the older you get. If I try to take that emotion out of it, maybe I say the ps2 was the best.

I am betweem snes and n64

woodchipper894339d ago

I had to debate between the N64 and GameCube. The SNES was right before my time.

JBSleek4339d ago

To me it's the N64 without a doubt.

rarity4339d ago (Edited 4339d ago )

IMO it's between the ps2 and the dreamcast.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle23d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Five Games I'd Love To See On the Neo Geo AES+

Blues Journey is the game I'd like to see.

Popsicle26d ago

Pre-ordered mine a few days ago. Love this concept and hope there are more games announced. I can’t justify paying the prices for games that collectors are asking for. It’s the primary reason I own almost every console except the Neo Geo.

Agent7525d ago

I've pre ordered one here in the UK, no games though, as I'll move it on for a higher price. The white model looks awesome, but as expected, the price is too high. We'll probably see more of those all in one cartridges from China containing every AES game. In the UK, AES+ game at £70 ($95) is better than eye watering prices for the originals, but these games are so old and I can honestly say SNK didn't release many classics. The Metal Slug series is the only series I rate, there were just too many Street Fighter clones and not enough scrolling fighting games. Overall, the Neo Geo was poor for all genres apart from one on one fighters. Videos on YouTube asking for games from that console generation to be ported to the AES+, but who'd want to pay £70 for Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2? There's a lot of SNK collections out there, the best being Metal Slug Anthology on the PlayStation 2. The Street Fighter Anniversary Collection on the Switch contains 12 games for around £30, instead of £840 if released on the AES+. For collectors, the AES+ is the best news since sliced bread. Are there enough SNK fans out there? Nowhere near. Those £70 cartridges will soon start creeping up in price and it'll be a re-run of the original console.

I always wanted one in the 90's but couldn't afford it. Now i can but i think if i get one it will be collecting dust fast. It's a nostalgia thing i guess.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.
