Earlier this year, we heard rumors about two in development Assassin’s Creed games, one known as Assassin’s Creed Unity and one known as Assassin’s Creed Comet. The rumors stated that Unity would be for the new current-gen consoles only, while Comet would be exclusive to last-gen, which likely meant just PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but possibly Wii U based on the graphical capabilities. However, time has come and gone with only Unity being announced and a last-gen Assassin’s Creed game not even being hinted at during E3 last month.

More information regarding a last-gen Assassin’s Creed will be revealed soon, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said today during an investor call.
Hmmm... perhaps it will be a 2D platformer, like the Prince of Persia games, coming to XBLA and PSN... using the same engine they used for the Rayman games, and Child of Light!?
And we will pretend that we are surprised when they announce a port to the current generation a few months after the release.
I actually had a dream last night where I woke up and suddenly asked myself "What happened to the other AC game supposed to come out for last-gen?"
Then I realized "Wait, who cares?!" and went back to sleep.

Ubisoft is to release more information on a new Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Assassin's Creed title "soon", CEO Yves Guillemot has said.

IGN: "Ubisoft is aware that “Assassin’s Creed has a ton of fans that don’t have a next-gen system,” Key said, “so we’ll do our best to take care of them. As soon as we have something to talk about, we will.”
Translation: We haven't forgotten there are millions of wallets still in last gen that we can take money from.
I want the main game on last gen ubisoft. Not Assassins creed 4.5.
Cannot wait for the inevitable Assassin's Creed Comet HD on PC, PS4 and Xbox One as well.
Assassin's Creed Comet makes me want AC in Space. Dont know how it would work, and frankly IDC, just do it.
A comet would be an assassin and you need to kill dinosaurs and planets? That could work.
I just wish it's set in Ancient Rome.
Raymond talked to The Grid about why the Assassin’s Creed franchise is successful and went on to say, “there is an additional element of getting to relive and play a role in these pivotal moments in history,” she continued. “We work with historians to recreate these societies — ancient Rome, the French Revolution. And because each game is crafted in a new era, players don’t get tired of the it.”
Now, if you’ve played the Assassin’s Creed games you know that the series has already gone to Italy in previous games, but as VideoGamer is careful to note that Raymond said, “ancient” Rome, which could mean the game will take place an entirely different era. In 2011, Ubisoft sent out a survey to ask players about the future of the Assassin’s Creed series and one of the options listed “the rise of Caesar’s Empire in Ancient Rome”.
In addition, VideoGamer did some additional research and came up with information on Caesar’s Comet. This was at the time of Caesar’s death when one of the brightest comets in recorded history passed by the Earth.
A potential piece of concept art revealing the game’s main character also potentially leaked over the weekend which you can see below. The character certainly matches up with the ancient Rome setting.Though it's creator declared it a fake.
