We Need More Silly Games

Rich Drummond of Gaming Tech United writes:

"The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider are three of the last year’s best games. What do they all have in common? Simply, they all carry a very serious tone. I'm tired of AAA games always trying to be serious and cinematic all the time. Sometimes you just wanna have some fun and laugh a little. I miss the days of the Gamecube and PS2, when games like Super Mario Sunshine or Ratchet and Clank could just be fun and not try to shove all of these thick, uncomfortable tones down everyone's throats.

Thank God for games like Tomodachi, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Saints Row IV. It's about time gaming lightened up again.

I do enjoy a serious game now and then, but like I stated in the article, I love being able to kick back and relax, all the while laughing my ass off at a wacky game like Octodad.

Hear, hear! More funny games are definitely welcome in my book. A lot of the stuff from Tim Schafer that I've played were really awesome.

Right with you. While I love a serious, cinematic game, I also want more games like Bulletstorm, Blood Dragon, and even Portal had a hilarious script, even if its gameplay wasn't very silly.

I see Deadpool made the list. Also saw it in stock at the local game store. Second hand. Might finally pick up a copy.
