Why No Company Won E3

This opinion piece talks about how no company won E3 2014.

Neonridr4356d ago

Agree completely. All 3 console manufacturers had great shows with a lot of hype and excitement generating for titles from all 3 camps.

One of the best E3's in a long time where games were the primary focus.

Everything was back to fresh air.... let New Gen get settled in, then heat up for the next few years.... kind of a win win for all gamers....

That guy is happy with all companies and mostly with EA: "E3 2014 did exactly what it needed to do."

I don't agree in this point, I was so boring at EA's conference.....sports, sports, sports and after FPS, FPS and FPS.

taylormoyle4356d ago

I do agree with you to an extent, EA's press conference was a low point for me but looking back on it it was nice to see the transparency they had in their press conference.

OC_MurphysLaw4356d ago

If one company "lost" it definitely was EA but the term lost is miss-leading. There is plenty to be excited about coming from EA but their actual press event itself was the worst to watch out of all 5 main events.

Doesn't mean EA is going to have crap this fall, just means their event was light on showing actual new games with game play and instead had lots of "prototype" footage which is hard to get behind for most.

Pfft, that's too negative. I say we're looking at an "everyone wins" situation. Heck, I know I win because it's all the more content I get to be excited for.

Bercilak4356d ago

There's an even simpler reason why no one "won": E3 is an exposition, not a competition. Look, it's right there in the name.

Saying that a company "won" E3 is like saying the cheeseburger "won" the menu. It makes no sense.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
