Despite it being an obvious feature, Nintendo says Mario Maker won't have any sort of multiplayer when it hits Wii U in 2015.

wait... what?

O.o

that seems like a strange decision to make.

Strange and a waste. What good is a Mario Maker without multiplayer?

In the old ones all you did was take turns playing when someone lost a life basically.. And everyone complains about the new super mario games multiplayer being a hassle... So I don't get what the fuss is... They can add it as dlc anyway

Idk, as kids we all thought simultaneous multiplayer mario was an amazing thought but if you look at the levels in the trailer its clear they're designed for one player and two would ruin the flow.

Lame excuse since we can create our own levels

To be fair he said ''probably not'' which means their is still a slim chance this feature could be worked in. Mario Maker is still in development so a bunch of choices are still to be made before the final product releases.

I hope the feature is added with the final release.

Not that big a deal. Old Mario games were take-a-turn multiplayer.

I'm sure when the game is released people will clamor for more content like skins and items. Nintendo always likes to evolve games as they move through development, I don't see them standing by this too stubbornly. This game went from a Dev tool to a full fledged video game, so anything is possible

I wasn't expecting any.

What I want to know is how good sharing and searching for creations will be. This will make or break the game.

There must be a good rating system and a decent way to search a shift through the junk to get the diamonds. There must also be a good sharing system that make it easy to show people creations.

I was going to buy a refurbished Wii U for $200 in 2 weeks, but I'm not buying a damn thing until this guy tells us about the sharing options for online levels. Also, I think leaving out multiplayer is a bad idea too.

'Super Mario Bros. Wonder' Is What Happens When Devs Have Time to Play

Because Nintendo’s upcoming Mario game had no deadline, its creators were able to experiment with new styles and move from the Mushroom Kingdom to the Flower Kingdom—with delightfully trippy results.

Can't wait for this. My Switch is itching for more Super Mario.

If this game is great, then it should be a lesson to other developers.
