Also whats wrong with VGchartz? Nobody said they were lying when the PS3 outsold the 360 for 2 months. Why do people hate it? Are there better sources to look at?

MGS4, even if the game is the best game of the year, is not a mainstream game like GTA. Its not a huge system seller.

Like you said, Snake Eater only sold 3 million in 3 years, with an install base of 100 millions at that time.

your logic makes sense but why are MS supporters claiming Gears of War going to be the same with a prediction of 8million sold within the first two months?

i can say the same thing about gears of wars, too human and fable. Since those games aren't mainstream, expect them not to move consoles as well.

Howabout those who are indifferent about whole MGS affair? Yes, I'm intending to get it, just to see if it's worth the hyping up again.

And you guys always seems to forget that, even if the PS3 is outselling the 360 every month worlwide, the 360 is still ahead from the PS3.

And even if the PS3 start outselling the 360 for, lets say, 200,000 every month, instead of 80,000 (a lot of difference), it will still take the PS3 almost two years to just reach the 360.

Use some logic please. No one is denying that the PS3 is outselling the 360 every month. But also, don't forget that the 360 is still ahead.

Alot of people have short term memory, and like to hear what they want to hear. Sure Sony's closing the gap, but they have a long way to go especially since they are not exactly "dominating" Europe or Japan.

PS3 is selling well, since december it has sold almost 2M more than X360 worlwide, those are the sales figures game publishers care and SONY cares, that tendence will continue...regarding what gamers care (should), WHAT I CARE is AAA titles, games: MGS4, GT5P, Wipeout HD, Singstar, Buzz Quiz Show, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM C, RFOM 2, Motorstorm: PR, Quality PSN games, real Digital Distribution of games, no limits: 200 MB, 300MB, 500 MB, etc, etc, etc...games for all type of gamers, I'm happy with my PS3, don't need more.

but I definitely think there will be a PS4, and just because sony talks about a 10 yr plan for the ps3 you can bet your @ss the ps4 will be here alot sooner than that....I mean why not? even if they don't finish 1st or 2nd they can still have a very profitable business because the videogame industry has expanded alot, all 3 companies can still have huge profits.

VG chartz is just one big guess-timate,(wait for NPD) so who really knows what the real numbers are, sometimes their close sometimes their waaaay off, in this case *IF their numbers are close it does make you wonder why ps3 sales aren't higher with bluray winning the format war and their biggest exclusive due out in less than 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see sales after MGS4 release....but really if you actually analyze the data not many games even highly anticipated AAA exclusives have really had a dramatic effect on console sales, Halo3 did boost some big 360 hardware sales numbers but partly because sales always pick up in the fall/holiday season....ps3 exclusives have particularly had less effect on ps3 hardware sales than what was previously expected....I think MGS4 will definitely change that, I'm sure ps3 will get a much needed boost but I just don't think it will be that BIG impact on sales that some expect, the good news is it should sell a huge amount of software though.

edit: @11.1 Mazz....prove it, where are your sources for that 2mil more than 360? I'm sure YOU are right, I just want to see it for myself.

oh and will people STOP crying everytime US numbers are discussed...YES we know there is a world outside of America, how could we NOT, you *foreigners are always reminding us, lmfao....still when you look at American sales numbers you can at least admit they are a huge portion of the total compared to any other 1 country/region, and in general the US sales influence the industry alot, but yes of course we know Uzbekistan is out there too, hey where is Uzbekistan anyway?

1.You see, the only reason the xbox1 was discontinued was because it had high manufacturing costs and hence made a loss on each unit sold.

2.The 360 is making profits for well over a year now (on hardware as well as software sales) so why on earth would MS stop selling it?

Well said! The Wii has successfully targeted the general masses and has been very successful because of it. The price is right and the games are right. The 360 or PS3 will never have success like that because their price point is higher and the games produced are aimed at a narrow audience. I don't like the term "hardcore" gamer but for lack of a better word right now i will use that. The "hardcore" gamer is the target for the majority of 360 and PS3 games. If either the 360 or PS3 want success like the Wii then they have to lower their prices and produce a wide variety of games aimed at the general masses along with games aimed at "hardcore" gamers inorder to satisfy their existing install base. Just because the Wii is the number one seller, there is no need to be bitter. I honestly don't understand why so many people get their panties in a twist over hardware sales and which console is selling the most.

Some people are forsure, but i will be very surprise if it is a ground breaking number.
