No, Ubisoft Doesn’t Hate Women. Here’s Why.

If you’ve been on Twitter recently, you’ll have seen the latest gaming controversy surrounding Assassin’s Creed Unity and misogyny. The issue is that the game doesn’t feature any female assassins, but the rest of the gaming media have unhelpfully put a misleading spin on the story. Talkingship clears up the media bias with a clear explainer: here’s why Ubisoft aren’t sexist, and why it makes perfect sense for AC Unity to only have male assassins.

The whole reason why they aren't women are because they are portraits of the main character , who is a male. It is similiar to watch dogs where everyone is Aiden but you see others as random people. In the E3 live interview they even said this.

Indeed. Strange how simple things are consciously ignored, then warped and twisted by the ultra sick and hateful SJWs.

Not enough female leads in games? Launch a kickstarter. If Anita can extort ridiculous sums of money, for her worthless video series, from complete and utter fools, then i'm sure these leftist hate groups can crowd source for their own game studio.

yeah, it's laziness, not sexism.

Ubisoft hates women. You know it. I know it.

But most of all, Jade knows it. lol

No female protagonist(s) -> therefore hates women.

Love this kind of logic.

They somehow forget the AC vita game from a while back. Female lead, thought I don't remember it receiving a lot of praise.

dodgemoose4364d ago

Shh, that ruins their whole argument. Valid points don't fit in quarrels like this.

It was very good. With some frame drops that we're fixed late on.

I think it's kinda sad that people are accusing Ubisoft of hating women just because you can't play as one in one of their games. Aisha briefed their whole pressed, they also include women in their previews of games, and many have large roles. It silly and stupid. Also why should people rage over if you can't play as one? It doesn't mean they hate women, it doesn't mean they want to oppress women, it doesn't mean they want to only appeal to men, it just means they didn't put any women.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
