IGN: Let’s get one thing straight from the start: I’m an unabashed old-school Rainbow Six fanboy. I loved the tactical planning in the original PC version from 1998. I loved the slow, plodding, calculated movement. I loved the tension knowing every shot was potentially the last. It was one of the first shooters where I felt like being the quickest or twitchiest player wasn’t a big factor for success. Sound tactics and careful planning is what really mattered -- Rainbow Six was the thinking gamer’s shooter.
