PS3 EndWar is 360 port

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of upcoming console-only RTS Tom Clancy's EndWar will be "identical" when the game launches this October or November, despite the PS3 port team experiencing "a little trouble at the beginning" of the game's development.

Despite the fact that the lead version is on the Xbox 360 and that the development team found the Unreal Engine 3 "a great fit" with Microsoft's console, Julian Gerighty, editorial content director at Ubisoft Shanghai revealed to VideoGamer.com at Ubidays last week that the dedicated 80 or 90 strong PS3 team "is doing really well now" with the port.

Gerighty said: "Because we have to have feature parity there's no difference in features. The way we've developed it was with Unreal 3 and we found it a really great fit with Xbox 360. PS3 team had a little trouble at the beginning but they're doing really well now. The lead version is the 360. They'll be identical when they finally launch."

He added: "There's a whole separate team of another 80, 90 guys working on it. It's really decent. And all they have to do is port it. It's a big team."

What do you expect from Ubisoft? =P

chaosatom3336568d ago (Edited 6568d ago )

but I am not interested in the title for these reason:
1) it's a RTS
2) it's a Port
3) it's made from unreal 3 engine
4) it's has Tom clancy in its name.

ubisoft will then whine that they didn't make as much money off the ps3 as 360.

JUST make the game separately from xbox and see the numbers go up in sales. it's as simple as that ubisoft. give love to ps3 owners, and they will give some love back to you.

Keyboard and mouse? I thought the whold draw to the game was voice commands. You shouldn't need a keyboard

Anyway, at least they aren't lying about it not being a port like they lied about Rainbow 6 vegas 2 lol only to find 360 controls in the game lol

I have zero interest in the game but if they do ps eye minority report type stuff i MIGHT rent it

What version was that 4 minute gameplay demo off? It left me feeling a great deal of "meh".

Im not interested for the above reasons listed. Except the tom clancy bit. I do hold a thin thread of hope for HAWX

Well there goes a good portion of the ps3 community.

deeznuts6567d ago

Assassins creed ran pretty good on my PS3.

QuackPot6567d ago

They are a now a very good multiplat publisher and one of my favourites.

At least for this company, gone are those crappy ports to the ps3 especially with developers getting more and more experience with the black beast.

I wonder if they will show the fact that the ps3 'port' has ps3 eye control support.

porting 8.4gb data to 50gb is nonsense...whereas other way around makes sense

BRACHATTACK6568d ago

most games for ps3 are ports from 360 because developers are lazy and can't be bothered to get the most out of there games

mboojigga6568d ago

Some of you really show how uneducated you are about consoles and game development in general.

DR-IVO6568d ago

in other words, "We're just here just for the money and being lazy ps3 developers."

Forget discounts,If they want to compete with EA Access, they need to bump up the AAA Games that are on the PS Store and on PS Now. There weren't a lot of games on PS Now that interested me, especially for that price point.

Let's take a moment and think about this..

Sony, I love you, but take notes! EA Access has a lot of extras that sound great if you’re looking for a new loyalty program, that blanket 10% off digital video games will definitely save subscribers some money if they’re big fans of Electronic Arts’ video games. Users who purchase a brand new Electronic Arts Xbox One title a month will break even on that first game, saving $6 off a $60 purchase.

PSN store trying to compete with EA Access? What nonsense!

Total different things!

And they need to bump up the AAA games on the PSN store? What? All the AAA games can be bought on the PSN store.

And no, PS Now is also not trying to compete with EA Access, again something else entirely...

And no, EA Access is not good value at all if you do not live in the US! They give 10% off on digital game purchases, MSRP of games is €70, 10% off means they are €63 but I can buy physical copies during initial release for between €50-55. Then there are a gazillion sports titles for free that I have no interest in. The games I'm interested in I already buy so don't need free copies a year after their release. The only nice thing about it is the 10 hours early access, that's it!

Just one game on PS4 (R6 Siege)
I expected more

Eidolon3704d ago

Tbat's like the only Tom Clancy game on PS4.. so that's ALL of them.

Aenea3704d ago

US only, why not add it in the title?
