Oculus Rift Support for Alien: Isolation Confirmed

VRFocus - Yesterday VRFocus brought news that Creative Assembly’s upcoming survival horror experience, Alien: Isolation, would be compatible with the Oculus Rift virtual realtiy (VR) headset on PC. At the time we cited sources close to the development of the SEGA-published videogame. Now the title’s support has been officially confirmed, and has been revealed to be playable with the device at this week’s E3 2014 event in Los Angeles, California.

VR Aliens game? OMG THE HYPE!!!!!

MrUnfamiler4350d ago (Edited 4350d ago )

I can see it now...slowly walking thru cold dark corridors, with nothing but a m16 and a flashlight...creeping past each empty room..anticipating the inevitable..you hear scratching, but dont know what direction it came from...your heart starts to beat faster & faster...you turn left down a pitch black corridor...you hear something in the room to the right.. you slowly go over & turn the Knob..And suddenly DING! YOU HAVE A NEW FACEBOOK MSSG FROM YOUR MOM ASKING YOU TO COME OVER & FIX HER WASHING MACHINE!

Total Immersion

Jealous much? I'll let you know whether my DK2 has any advertising built in next month...

MrUnfamiler4350d ago (Edited 4350d ago )

What part of my comment implys me being jealous? Im not being rhetorical, i really dont understand where that comment came from.
My comment was satire based around the notion of facebook buying oculus is going to have a facebook app built in, which no one but the devs would know for sure till the retail version comes out.
Now You Show Me Yours. Your Comment has really peaked my interest as to how you thought it up after reading mine.

I really hope this VR crap goes away quickly.

Like 3D TVs, nothing but a gimmick that will rarely get used, but hey, slap on a couple extra £100s for the privilege.

It's limited and useless. Everything I've seen so far for VR tech is just unimpressive and dumb looking.

Si-Fly4350d ago

Another person who obviously hasn't tried it.

Sold my DK1 to fund my DK2 ... Can't wait.

If they're going to confirm VR support, then they need to confirm this game comes with a few changes of underwear too.

The Best Alien Games (To Play After Watching Alien: Earth)

An opinion piece on the best Alien games. From arcade Alien vs Predator action to a terrifying Xenomorph stalker, these are the best Alien video games starring Ridley Scott’s chestbursting, acid-blooded nightmare.

Got a soft spot for AvP (2010) but solid list nonetheless.

My favorite Aliens game also, having the three campaigns to play was great. Scaling walls as an alien waiting to ambush anyone that came too close.

Only played a little of the horde mode but was still fun.

Aliens Fireteam Elite was my GotY in 2021, single player was kinda bad but playing that game 3 player with friends was so good and really challenging on higher difficulties

Massive shout out to Aliens Vs predator 2 (2001), a dialup lag filled fun mess in multiplayer and 3 great campaigns

I played through most of the PS4 version of the game but stopped because another game came out. I bought it last year for PC with the intention of using the VR mod but haven't gotten around to setting it up. I am glad I waited.

Great game, even better in VR. A little drawn out by the end, but I hope we see CA do something a little different with the sequel.

OtterX344d ago (Edited 344d ago )

Sweet. I also rebought this game on Steam for the purpose of VR. I'll have to give it another shot w full immersive controls. I had only tried it out briefly before.

It's funny this was never officially released at retail as a VR game, bc it feels so perfect for it!
