Am i the only one that thinks it might not take place within the Milky Way, i mean sure there is things to explore there but they probably would have to cater to the different choices that the players made unless its so far into the future.

Despite of all the dlcs that i didn't play, i had a great experience with the Mass Effect trilogy, for me it's one of the best games from the last generation.
Mass Effect 2 is my favorite.
Can't wait for more.

If this info is accurate, then great. I personally hope it's not a prequel, in fact I think I'd almost prefer it to be set so far across the in-game universe that the original trilogy has minimal impact on the new trilogy. That or it will have to utilize previous save game data (I would buy a remastered collection just for this) or some sort of decision-based storyboard intro.

However, and no offense to individuals working at a GameStop, any time I've gone to one of these stores in recent years I always try to have a polite conversion about upcoming games or hardware but I always leave feeling like I knew more about those things than any of them do. Maybe it's just at my locations, but I'm not puting much stock in these particular resources.

No matter what its called or when its set, I'm always ready for more Mass Effect.
My only hope is that the game still have Asari, Quarians, Krogan, Salarians and Turians.
Apart from that, they can do what they wish with everything else.

They need to make the Yahgs a playable specie. They make Krogans look squishy.

I wouldn't mind a trilogy based on the rebuilding of the mass relays or their replacement with a new technology and the rebuilding of a universal civilization after the events of mass effect 3

How is it that this would be called Mass Effect: Origins, yet it's not a prequel? Doesn't Origins imply events earlier in history being followed? Seems to be a conflicting statement.

They could've made some new IP that could've been better than ME, potentially.
But we'll never know because EA has to milk this series that ME3 brutally killed.

I was hoping this wouldn't be part of a planned trilogy, because then everything has to be concluded in the third act and as we've seen in the past - particularly with Mass Effect, trilogies do not work very well.

Dragon Age Origins? No way would EA allow a game from their roster to be subtitles the same as another release on there

As long as it isn't a prequel, I'm happy with whatever they've decided to do with the new game.

The Mass Effect games have always been an entertaining experience but I didn't like the direction the second and third instalments took.

The first game in the series was by far my favourite. I hope the next trilogy takes the series back to its roots with a greater focus on exploration and freedom.

Think open world (well open galaxy really lol) space exploration RPG.

The last two games ended up being just a long series of "fetch quests". The gun play improved with each game, but the rest of the game went backwards IMO. It ended up being a fairly generic cover based TPS.

Who are they targeting, me1 fans who want a sci-fi rpg or the new action fans they picked up with 2/3 who just want to blow things up with laser guns?

A lot of you are confused about the word "origins", doesn't exactly state who's origins, it could mean a number of things at this point. Never did it say Shephards origins, or the Reapers. All origin means is basically the beginning, genesis, or birth of something, that could be after or before the events of ME3.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
