Avoiderdragon: City-building simulators have had a spotty history in recent years, especially with the release of the critically-panned SimCity last year and not much else. The Tropico series had been one of the better alternatives to it aside from going back to playing SimCity 4 or playing the new Banished (which is more of a community survival simulator). Now with the release of Tropico 5, it seems that the genre is back on the right track for the most part.

Sony announces a change in the PlayStation Plus lineup for Japan. Tropico 5 replaces The Callisto Protocol for October due to certification issues.

Starting today, Tropico 5 is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until December 24 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim it, it’s yours to keep.

Thanks to an addition to the Humble Totally Tropico Bundle, you can now complete your Tropico 4 and 5 collections.
