Pete Hine, the Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda has explained the reason for the six month delay to bringing Elder Scrolls Online to consoles. One factor is the closed systems of consoles.
Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk is now live for all platforms (including PC/Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation), kicking off a new era for The Elder Scrolls Online. This inaugural Season is live from April 2 until July 8 and lays the foundation for all future Seasons by introducing new reward systems, the first wave of player-focused improvements, class and combat redesigns, new zones and challenges, and more.

That's all bullshit. The delay is because the PC subscriber base has dwindled massively since launch because the game simply isn't fun enough for a subscription model. They're focusing on creating their cash shop and going free to play before the end of 2014.
"It blows, so we're going to try and make it not blow." I guarantee it will be F2P when it launches on consoles, like thekhurg said.
They've gotta rethink their business model. The verdict is out... the game isn't very good... certainly not good enough to warrant $15 monthly on top of the cost of entry...
more like an excuse then an actual reason IMO. 1 of 2 things will happen
1. Game will go F2P
2. Game will be cancelled
i wanna say F2P will be the most likely choice but cancellation would not surprise me either the way this game has gone so far.
FF14 subs don't go through the PS store but through Square so I call BS.
I bet the game is just too buggy and not finished as it is the case with most Bethesda open world games. On top of that it doesn't seem to be doing that great on PC in the current state it is, so they might have to revamp some stuff. When I played the beta it was like playing Skyrim with an Online mod and that wasn't something I would want to pay 15 bucks a month.
