Proud Owner for nVida GeForce 9800 GX2 x2!

PoSTedUP6578d ago

WOW....thats some real looking sh*t. but no graphics card for me, i dont play pc games.

jaja14346578d ago

The 360 has a 7800 kind of...
And the PS3 has a 7600 kind of...
Wii has err umm a hamster on a wheel?

So you should care about graphics cards! :)

m91058266578d ago

lol, It's widely accepted taht the PS3 is based off of a 7800 series GPU with a greater shader support and advanced CUDA support for direct interaction with the Cell.

TheIneffableBob6578d ago

The RSX in the PS3 is actually a somewhat gimped high-end 7 series card.

And, no, it does not have CUDA support. That feature was introduced with the 8 series.

jaja14346578d ago

Read the post below, just going off what a man who programmed for both told me when he guest spoke to our CS department.

m91058266578d ago

lol, as someone who has personally programmed a CUDA derivative on a ps3 dev kit I can assure you that RSX can indeed handle CUDA. It uses a CUDA derivative that allows special communication between the RSX and the Cell. RSX isn't just some 7 series GPU slapped next to the Cell... it has quite a few tricks up it's sleeve that are still untapped and under NDA to this day.

Says you6578d ago (Edited 6578d ago )

A 7800 graphics card its not even made by Nvidia and the PS3 does not have 7600 since nobody knows what it is where did you pull that out from??, from your arse!?.

znu6578d ago

yea, i think they have custom graphic cards optimized for console gaming

PS3 has the RSX( all i know lol)

jaja14346578d ago

did the "kind of" escape you?
There is a reason I put that there... Accord to someone who worked on the PS3 version and to a lesser extent the 360 version of Star Wars Force Unleashed the 7800/7600 are a basically whats under the hood of the respective hardware in terms of graphics cards. Is it the 78/76, no, but the cards the 360/PS3 have, have about the same power as those two cards. Hence the "kind of."

So you will forgive me if I take a programmers word who actually worked on the systems over well you know.

znu6578d ago (Edited 6578d ago )

so forgive me if i therefore, following your logic, i do not trust you either

none of us have proof to support our claims,

Find me your proof and lets clear this up

jaja14346578d ago (Edited 6578d ago )

Since I didn't record the lecture the speaker gave and there is no semi official post so you can either do a "Xenos pc graphic card" search on Google and then one for the PS3.
(note the PS3 no says the 7800GTX512, same as the 360, on some and 7600 on others)

Either way that's what the programmer told us and what I believe, weather you believe me well I could care less. Either way, enjoy the search. :)

How the DMCA Laws Put Indie Developers at Risk

Filing a false DMCA claim costs nothing, requires no proof, and can destroy an indie game's launch in minutes. Fighting back can cost tens of thousands of dollars and take weeks (if you can afford it at all).

Copyright is copyright. DMCA is a good thing that protects creators IP., revenue and usage. and you can absolutely appeal a wrongful DMCA takedown. It’s happened to me. Was easily resolved.

VGMM109d ago

....I don't feel like you read the article, at all.

Seraphim109d ago

it's a good thing, but it's also long been reported, across a variety of industries and websites, that currently the system is ripe for and full of abuses. From fair use strikes, to matters like the one reported in this article. It's clear the law needs some tooth to punish bad actors and that parameters need to be set in how reports are filed; ie human review of said content and not some AI bot false flagging stuff. As is the system is far to easily abused by those who have motive to suppress and flag content they have no business or right to.

Commentby109d ago

No system will ever be perfect, but there needs to be a review, unless it blatant.

Nevers0ft108d ago

Until there's genuine consequences for this type of abuse, it'll keep happening across all media. DMCA is in principle a good thing, but it needs an overhaul.
