The game was then played without the internet connected to verify that it is possible to play that way. According to the article the the installation is easy, painless, and authentication occurs without any effort besides entering the product key. Due to the huge controversy that was made about SecuROM the author chose to write an article about this topic.

or you can just install it then apply cd crack. Simple as that.

I was just about to post the fact that it was cracked in no time which now means those that steal it get a superior product to those that buy it (what an insane world we live in. I do not agree with stealing sofware so no I won't be pirating it. However I don't agree with all this DRM infested crap either so I won't be buying it either.

The only thing I can complain about is SecuROM. The spyware that demands that certain products not be running in the background when loading a game.
Otherwise I find it lovely. No DVD in drive even!
This may be a step towards a protection that doesn't hurt customers. That's a good thing.

I agree. I have been feeling that way since installation that it is a step in the right direction. The fact that I don't have to be connected to the internet to play is an extremely good thing.

Really as a developer it must be an interesting situation to be in. On the one hand you want to protect the product that you have worked so hard on, and on the other you don't want to piss off your customers. When the first form of security was announced for Mass Effect I think it worried a lot of gamers everywhere. This new form of security seems to be much better. Just the one time initial activation. And then if you download new content (Bring Down the Sky) then you need to reactivate. Not sure what the "periodic activation" in the user agreement means though.

I apprecitate that Bioware has listened to their fan base about this issue. I have really been impressed that they were able to change the security measures only weeks before shipping the final product.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing20d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit20d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing20d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9220d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
