How much you want to bet they still aren't using all the SPEs...we'll see after it's released.

By now we all know that the PS3 architecture is more difficult to program - if you spend the same resources on both, the PS3 will either be a crappy version or take longer to get it right. But since the other versions are ready they might as well release them and start making money.

I am hopeful that the problems Sony has run into will make Sony stop doing what Sony wants and start thinking more about the developers. Because this generation shows that Sony cannot rest on its past success any more - they at best are going to have a slight lead over the 360 in the end but right now it doesn't look like either MS or Sony is going to catch the Wii. So Sony will not have a clear advantage going into the next round and will have to produce a better machine or suffer.

Why didn't they start on the PS3 first then port to the 360. When will they learn. This game was a 1st day buy for me but this fall I might be too busy playing Little Big, Resistance 2 and a bunch of other game and might miss this one for awhile. By the time i get it it will be a used copy.

and that is why this game is delayed for ps3 believe me they are moving away from single player games anyway they just want maximize profits which means run and hide from mgs4 for a while

Ok once you have all spent your 15 hours looking at the video sequence and the 9 hours playing the game, what are you going to do with the rest of the year? yeah mgs4 will be a AAA game, but every game becomes old hat after a couple of months, by the sound of people on here, mgs4 is going to keep you going forever, news flash, just like every game ever released, within a couple of months the used section in your local blockbusters will be crammed with trade ins

if the ps3 version isnt looking the best but they can get it working with a few tweaks then a delay is good.

Plus the hole not getting released around MGS4 will help them

i was gonna rent it i can see it bein 1 of those games with no replay value much like Drakes Fortune, besides "who in there right minds gonna buy AITD over MGS4?" - NOT ME!!! PS3FTW WOOT WOOT WOOT

At least they're throwing 360 owners a bone, they don't have Metal Gear Solid 4 to look forward to.

Well programming priorities again hurt a title.
As any multiprocessing programmer can tell you - it is easier to go from multi -> single processing algorithms rather then the other way around as the logic is different but scales down easily. Single to multi is much harder as the logic changes drastically... Oh well another company that will die in the coming parallel processing world.

i.e. do an install to the hard drive...that is the latest trick in the book to work around the slower read time off the blu ray drive and seems to be something more and more developers are leaning on in order to get steady, good frame rate on the PS3.

And I am not saying that is a bad thing...just a trend we are starting to see more of.

I have to agree that they felt a little concern with MGS4 release being so close. Otherwise, why delay it so much later?

There are no valid reasons for having any trouble programming for the PS3. There are a ton of resources out there to ease the developmental process of games for the PS3 making this an unacceptable excuse.

I don't feel like waiting.

Like Sl1m said, theres no reason for the problems and delays...The architecture and programming should be peanuts at this point already.

Hell, they even Phil Harrison there is there to help. He should know the machine inside and out.

"Not that far off" translates into a six month delay. If it truly wasn't that far off, they'd have given a date already. Anyways, glad that they aren't trying to ship a half assed project, though Atari must realize, PS3 gamers, and gamers in general, do not appreciate a console specific delay of a multiplatform game (the second helpings effect) and will probably refuse to buy it. I foresee horrible PS3 version sales because of this effect, especially if the game is as mediocre as Blacksite or Stranglehold.

we understand it takes time to uncompress the damn data that you had to compress for the xbox 360 just take your time.

I put around 10 to 14 hours into Balatro. Very fun and somewhat easy game to pick up and play . But if you want to get long deeper runs, definitely requires a good strategy. I very much recommend trying out Balatro if you haven't yet.

Nothing that catches my eye personally, but I will add them all to my library nonetheless 🙂

I'll give AITD a try, I understand the combat is crap but the rest of the game is decent. That's ok for a horror game imo.
