Microsoft 'Blown Away' by Grave

VRFocus - Broken Windows Studios has recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign for their Oculus Rift compatible survival horror title, Grave. However, from day one the team made it clear that the videogame wasn’t only intended for PC but console formats, too. And with virtual reality (VR) compatibility wherever possible.

Lmao. Sometimes I get a migrain trying to make out some stuff he says.

OT: I guess this means MS will be announcing their VR tech very soon.

MS may be blown away but I'm not!

Good to see real survival horror make a comeback but with so many out now they have to do more.

ToxicSushi4267d ago

“To be fully honest we’ve had a harder time getting through approval with Sony.” Stated Tristan Parish... Wow $ony, first Titan Fall now Grave. Boy have the tables turned for small independent developers.

Don't forget Sunset Overdrive, this just goes to show no company is perfect no matter how much crap is spewed. Experiences vary from person to person.

Also this is a VR game, is the MSFT interest in this game a hint their VR/AR might be presented in the near future?

GribbleGrunger4267d ago

You bark so loudly from such a tiny perch.

"Also this is a VR game, is the MSFT interest in this game a hint their VR/AR might be presented in the near future? "

My thoughts as well.

Jazz41084267d ago

Its not even been listed for the ps4. Check the article. It is coming to the one.

GameDev14267d ago

@truefan

Say anything to bash Sony eh.

Insomniacs games have worked with Sony for a while so why would it be hard to reach them?? Sony wanted the IP franchise for Sunset Overdrive which is standard for business while Insomniac wanted to own the IP. Microsoft allowed Insomniac which is fine. It just means in the future any other make of Sunset Overdrive can come to other consoles as Insomniac are not owned by Microsoft and own the IP for the game.

Titanfall was a case of Sony not giving away the PS4 specs but were fully willing to support it on the PS Vita, which was smart, as they now have the superior gaming console and can get the next sequel of Titanfall.

I don't know why Sony were hard to reach for these guys, but Sony clearly have other working projects for VR Morpheus and will likely be prioritizing

JMyers4267d ago

@Truefan1

Typical Sony bashing from you... making your points and argument moot.

mike_honcho4267d ago

I wish I got a dollar everytime truefan typed "msft"

kanyewesting4267d ago

@GameDev

Sony released news about PS4 before X1 yet MS was helpful to Respawn.

Tables are turning & devs should realize MS has become more dev orientated.

MegaRay4267d ago

Its their opinion, some think Sony is great at responding to devs, some dont.
Same can be said about MS and Nintendo too

AngelicIceDiamond4267d ago

“To be fully honest we’ve had a harder time getting through approval with Sony.”

Sony has ALLOT of Indies under their belt so keeping up with every dev that's interested in the console gets hard to management I imagine.

Realistically expect this game to get announced for PS4 in the near future.

WeAreLegion4267d ago

Titanfall was made by Respawn and published by EA. Microsoft paid for exclusivity. What are you talking about?

I'd pass on Grave, too. It looks boring.

https://www.kickstarter.com...

Sony has made their fair share of mistakes. I personally enjoyed Remember Me and don't understand why they would have passed on it. However, don't call them out on either of these games.

BlackWolf124267d ago

Yeah I'll say.

But from what we have heard from Microsoft in the past, it doesn't take much to 'blow them away'.

mushroomwig4267d ago

>TitanFall
>Small independent developers

What?

rdgneoz34267d ago

You do realize that with Titanfall (being published by EA which makes billions of dollars each year), Respawn was asking Sony for money so they could finish the game since they spent a ton of money in a legal battle against Activision? A game being published by a company that pops out big name games and makes billions a year, was asking for money so they can finish one? Hell, why not kickstarter it...

"Boy have the tables turned for small independent developers."
If Respawn is an indie developer, what is Broken Window Studios considered?
p.s. The parity clause still says hi (which not even Sony or Nintendo have)

heisenberguk4267d ago

Whatever brings you happiness!!

JetP06194267d ago

what tables? Sony has been the biggest supporter of indie studios and titles this gen. Troll harder. Also titan fall isnt indie.

Belasco4267d ago

That's a bit of a stretch, we don't know the particulars of the situation.

aragon4267d ago

Kool great news, about the Sony and ms part it's good that they enjoy working with ms, but they said ms followed thru first and they worked with em initially but look at the parity clause they say they still wanna work with Sony even tho they might release it first on xbone, I think parity clause needs to go because if the tables were turned xbone would miss a good little gem

ToxicSushi4267d ago

Big assumption about a parity clause since there was no mention of it in the article. The developer simply stated that they had a harder time getting through approval with $ony.

Jazz41084267d ago

It is not confirmed for the ps4 just the xboxone so parity is pointless to bring up unless you are trying to stir things up.

aragon4267d ago

not trying to stir up anything as i am neutral wow lol check my history for reference i defend xbox, nintendo and sony, jus saying if devs want to bring it to sony platforms it will prob be no problem down the line, but because of the clause if they released first on ps then it wouldnt come to xbox one

So this xbox1 article is put in the PS4 section to start something. That is very immature of whoever did it.
