Who Is Going To “Win” E3 2014?

We can all agree that Sony bludgeoned Microsoft over the head with an Xbox One at E3 last year and then ran off with the show while floating on a cloud (no to be confused with the cloud). You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better case than this of a company “winning” E3. With just about a month to go until the smoke, mirrors and hype get poured out from a stage, Perhaps we should take a look at where everybody is at currently.

Could not agree more with this.

We are going to win E3. :-)

UltimateMaster4416d ago

Without an E3 presentation, Nintendo better showcase some damn good games this E3 for the Wii U or it's game over for them.

Within the context of this article, where Sony and Microsoft are going head to head; who will win? No cheating, pick one. What do you really think is going to happen?

I am rooting for Microsoft but I believe Sony will win. Its really unbalanced because Microsoft, who has had a handful of exclusives, has not been able to leverage those to outsell the competition. So the pressure is on.

What Sony has done is to make the PS4 the multiplat system of choice which is the ultimate prize. Everything else is just gravy (chicken gravy actually). Microsoft needs to have a playable Halo 5 demo. That could do it. Anything short of that is an automatic victory to Uncharted... I mean Sony.

thorstein4416d ago

I think Atari 2600 will win E3. A close second will be Colecovision followed by the Magnavox Odyssey.

mikeslemonade4416d ago

sony will win every e3 this generation based on their choices they made early for the system

UltraNova4416d ago

Nintendo will win this years E3 by announcing the WII F***U with full hd/60fps out of the gate.

You heard right, the WII F***U, mothafuckaaaaaaa

Boody-Bandit4416d ago

That's the 1st thing that came to mind when I saw the title. Gamers

HacSawJimThugin4416d ago

Lol exactly what I was thinking.

sonerone4416d ago

just came to say the same, gamers will deinetly win this year :)

goldwyncq4416d ago

That's one hell of a cliche, but nevertheless true.

choujij4416d ago

Look at you being all politically correct. :P

Gr1mmyshadows4416d ago

its sad you even got disgrees for saying that. people are pathetic sometimes

Back-to-Back4416d ago

What a weak copout? Pick one and stop being indecisive.

rivencleft4416d ago

Best. Response. Ever. You hit the nail on the head, we the gamers are the ones who win from E3, always. Cannot wait to see what they have in store this year.

ATi_Elite4416d ago (Edited 4416d ago )

I'm going to WIN E3 2014!

Why? Becuase I'm going that's why.

Instant Victory see you all there. I'll be wearing a ATi Radeon T-shirt of some kind, Gigabyte, XFX, or Sapphire

(most likely will be self handcuffed to the StarCitizen or Kingdon COme: Deliverance booths)

Was E3 last year really that much of a win for Sony? If it wasn't for their pricing of the PS4 and the hilarious 'How to share games' I would have given Microsoft the win last year for the first time in a long time for bringing the games.

Persian_Immortal4416d ago (Edited 4416d ago )

Microsoft has had some ridiculously mediocre press conferences during the Mattrick ERA, The last time they killed E3 was when Peter Moore revealed Halo 2 and people went bananas maybe not on Miyamoto level but it it was high up there. Ubisoft wasn't to hot at E3 neither for the longest time until they pulled magic in 2012 and 2013 with reveals such as Watch Dogs, Far Cry 3 and The Division. Furthermore If Sony can continue delivering press conferences like they have been doing the past 9 years they will definitely win. Just like a Heavyweight champion boxer they do a good job opening up the show(Montages) and closing the show,(Big Game Reveals) the show stopper always wins.

HyperBear4416d ago

It'll sure be different at the Sony Conference this year, not seeing Jack Tretton walk out onto that stage, "drop the mic" and and bring joy to the crowd :(...Hopefully this Shawn Layden guy can have the same impact as Tretton did.

On the opposite side of Sony, I'm really excited to see Phil Spencer doing his first e3 being in charge of Xbox now. If you thought last years E3 was blown out with games, which he was responsible for, then this years E3 should be as good, if not better.

lifeisgamesok4416d ago (Edited 4416d ago )

Microsoft definitely would've won last year if the whole DRM debacle wasn't there along with the $500 price tag (worth it in my opinion)

This year it is up for grabs

Halo 5 vs Uncharted

Quantum Break vs The Order

Forza Horizon 2 vs Driveclub

Sunset Overdrive vs .....

Halo 2 vs Kill Strain?

Eden Falls vs The Last of Us remaster

Ryse 2 vs Project Beast

Fable Legends vs Guerilla Games RPG since we don't know the name lol

Overall... Yes, gamers win

GameDev14416d ago

Those are odd versus comparisons and some of those games are rumours

FPS shooter vs 3rd person adventure story driven shooter??

New ip vs Remastered version??

Better the keep the versus compeition till after E3

I_am_Batman4416d ago

@lifeisgamesok: I agree theres a lot to look foreward to on any platform. I expect a much better E3 conference from both Sony and MS this year cause they'll be able to concentrate on games. I can't wait to see what surprises Sony, MS and Nintendo have up their sleeves.

Keep that attitude btw.

GarrusVakarian4416d ago

I don't agree with everything having to be "vs", but yeah, you're right, overall...gamers win.

Convas4416d ago

I'm going to win. Because there will be a ton of awesome multiplats I'll earmark for PC and I'll be getting an XONE and a PS4 for the exclusives I can't get on PC.

GameDev14416d ago (Edited 4416d ago )

Is this the most likely the fanboy article of today?

This headline and the one on top reads pretty much the same :)
