Now the Nintendo Wii is cracked, supposedly so it can become an open platform for homebrew. But what it means is that the pirates will exploit the same loophole so they can steal people's work instead of paying for it. So the Wii will become even less worthwhile for third party publishers.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

But this doesn't make it so you can play actual Wii games without a modchip... And I doubt you will ever be able to without one for a long time, if ever even.
The only thing this really effects is Nintendo's virtual console games, and their Wiiware games. Since they can be downloaded and played on your Wii for free with this.
that would be crazy...i don't want that happen ever and i probably wouldn't run homebrew/pirated games on Wii either...why would i bother when i mostly play 1-2 games each year...
if you make a good game, it will sell, period.
example: GTA IV (it was leaked and sold millions world wide even it leaked before it was release)
you make crap, people won't even play the pirated version. example: IRON MAN PC (a piece of crap that make Iron Man looks bad)
those people needs to realize and better come up with new excuses for poor sales, you suck at making games, noob at it, admit it, it is perfectly fine, you may be the best programmer at your school graduated with honor 4.0 gpa blah blah blah, however, that does NOT mean you know how to make a fun game. when your shhhh is NOT worth to play, because you suck at gaming in the first place, no creativities.
YES. I FINALLY WILL OWN ANOTHER WII GAME OTHER THAN TP. I have a f*ckton of DS games.
