Makes me sad to see the disagrees- on gameplay alone, I totally agree with you.

I think TPP's story might miss the mark a little (where MGS3's was near-perfect, made my partner cry), but MGS4/ Ground Zeroes quality gameplay over huge open worlds... Is going to be incredible. Far more impressive than what MGS3 achieved, I think. MGS3's gameplay was brilliant but often frustrating and a little off-balance.

Though MGS3's gameplay was the best in the series so far, partially because there was so MUCH of it. There would be hours of gameplay before a cutscene happens.

TPP looks like it's going to return to that balance. Huge stretches of (incredible) gameplay, amazing environments, that sense of end-to-end adventure which was totally gone from MGS4.

Like, the whole POINT of MGS' gameplay is that you play Snake at deployment, follow him moment-to-moment on a huge adventure, playing him all the way to the end of the mission.

In MGS4 you barely go an hour of gameplay without the mission being over and another (tiny) mission beginning. The sense of adventure is entirely gone.

I can't wait for how much TPP will hopefully perfect this.

I love MGS i really do top 5 games of all time imo. but when i go back to them i hate the controls. Even after playing each one around 4-5x each getting all the bandanas and stealth suits etc. over the years i still hate the controls. Even getting used to them doesn't deter me from the hate i have for the Mgs1-3 controls.

Still my favorite of all time as well, surpassing MGS1 for that title. Top notch gameplay, graphics, and music...No doubt it's one of the greatest games ever made and will be remembered come the next decade, and the next!
