With the ninth mainline installment looming, it feels like the right moment to rank every mainline Resident Evil game from worst to best.
At first I was like, No Code Veronica on the list!? But then I seen Mainline. The list checks out, but I would personally put 2 over 4.
I'll take 2 over 4 also. And even without a number, I don't see how Code Veronica, my other favorite in the franchise, isn't mainline when it's the actual sequel to RE2.
The original RE was the best. Its not on the list which makes no sense.
The remake of it was alright but should be higher on this list.
Capcom has launched a new website to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its long-running survival horror series, Resident Evil.
A major Resident Evil voice actor was recently asked about the rumored Resident Evil 1 Remake and allegedly dropped a major hint.
It will come. I just think it will be after code Veronica, and zero. Maybe in line with when RE 10 releases…

the one that got re released for the ps4 and xbox looks amazing.
It's been 23 years, by the time this could come out we'd be nearing 25. If it's done in the same style as the RE2, 3 & 4 Remake then yeah, I'd happily take another remake.
It gets to tie together RE0 and RE1 better while adding onto the mansion to give us new areas to visit or enemies to face.
Part of me always wishes the "OG" Resident Evil Remake would remain the only one. Then again, can't deny the financial incentive.

Interesting. Maybe one final hurrah for the story line before a much needed reboot? As long as they drop the coop crap I'll listen and give it a chance.
If Capcom can put out crap like re 6 and still sell over 5 million copies then i see no reason why they can't appease the fans and go back to survival horror, it's still going to sell millions.

Resident Evil reboot? Resident Evil 7 with classic style gameplay? another REmake of sorts?
Who knows, either of the three above would demand a blessing.
