I hope they are working on normal PS4 titles, don't get me wrong theres nothing wrong with Morpheus it's just Sony London was working on games like Getaway 3 and Eight Days before they were "put on hold" for Move games like Eye Pet....and now Morpheus.

They are talented people I want to see at least a Getaway reboot.

London is a studio of 500 people, yeah you can bet there is more then 1 project in development.

-Foxtrot4428d ago

REALLY?

Yet last gen they decided to use ALL 500 members of staff on Eyepet, Singstar and Wonderbook

They could of spared a few for the Getaway or Eight Days at least.

shivvy244428d ago

WHAT ! did they use 500 people just to make ps move games and Home

randomass1714428d ago

Dang, we should expect plenty from this studio then.

maybe thats why people have been leaving sony, sony may be focusing too much on this VR and maybe developers don't like it.

just a guess and all opinion

"REALLY?

Yet last gen they decided to use ALL 500 members of staff on Eyepet, Singstar and Wonderbook

They could of spared a few for the Getaway or Eight Days at least."

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm assuming the guys at SCE London were helping other studios with projects. Many other studios do similar things, too. That's the only logical explanation IMO. Sony, or really any other company, would never let an entire studio do nothing and continue to have 500 employees.

DOMination-4427d ago

Unity engine is mainly used by small devs or indies. This vasically sounds like a next gen singstar. I agree, SCE London should be doing more

Looking forward to see what they are working on.

Project Morpheous and VR altogether is something I would like to see mature and become more mainstream in the near future.

randomass1714428d ago

With competition from Oculus Rift and a possible Xbox version, I would expect that to be a sure fire outcome.

AgentSmithPS44427d ago

Here's hoping the "high quality audio content" has something to do with hot gals with British accents, like Kate Beckinsale in the Underworld movies.

candy_mafia4428d ago (Edited 4428d ago )

It's an interesting technology, but I can live without Morpheus if I'm totally honest...Seems like a bad time for Sony financially to get into this right now.

Or maybe Sony aren't on their last nickle 'n dime like some would want us to believe?

Sony has always been cutting edge, but IMO Morpheus isn't necessary right now ;/

randomass1714428d ago

They need to emulate the social aspects that Facebook seem to want out of Oculus Rift. Then they can appeal to those who don't like the Apple brand, possibly even improve on the technology.

zeuanimals4427d ago

Sure, just like any other consumer product that isn't necessary for the minimum needed to survive. I don't need VR just like I don't need this laptop I'm typing on. Sure, do I "need" this laptop for school? Yes, but do I "need" to go to school? No.

VR is something I, as well as countless others really freaking want, and I've been wanting it since I started gaming. TESVI in VR? Yes please. And since so many people want VR, I'm happy that there are companies who want to deliver it.

kingPoS4427d ago (Edited 4427d ago )

I'm so glad I have a game console I want but don't need. Or maybe you just you value other peoples opinions over your own. I like the idea of VR just fine. No one ever said you needed to diss VR. If you don't care about it... well that your prerogative.

Totally disagree with most of the comments here and there. VR is going to change everything forever in a huge way, and the more people working on games made especially for VR the better.

randomass1714428d ago

I agree somewhat. It needs to be practical and affordable, the way many modern tablets are.

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2148d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
