Mozilla IDs 10 bugs, 3 critical, in Firefox 3.0 RC1

Mozilla Corp. has identified 10 high-priority bugs in Firefox 3.0 - three of them pegged critical - but it won't decide until next week whether to release the browser anyway or restart the final stretch by issuing a second release candidate.

"We are making a go/no-go decision early next week, as we are still collecting feedback [on Release Candidate 1]," Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla's vice president of engineering, said in an e-mail Thursday.

Firefox 3.0 RC1 launched a week ago, but Mozilla has not yet committed to RC2. Previously, the company only said it is targeting June as the release window for the final code.

lsujester6573d ago

Same here. This is much better than 2, even as a release candidate.

in 2 whenever i went youtube the videos kept freezing if i dident let the file load all the way through but now the run much smother and i can watch movies without them freezing every second:)(of course its not perfect but im sure theyll sort it out properly in an update)

thumbs up from me

For me it can randomly crash on youtube. I get a complete screen glitch and it's like 10 pixels wide repeating left to right of grey or sometimes a scroll bar. It completely kills the computer so you have to kill the power to it.

That means something actually wrong with your computer, not Firefox. Do you have all the latest updates for you computer. (DirectX, Adobe Flash Player/Shockwave, Java..)

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
