Latest Titanfall Patch Reportedly Causing Slow Load Times & Other Performance Issues

MP1st - A large number of PC users are reporting loading troubles after having downloaded the latest game update for Titanfall.

KinjoTakemura4449d ago (Edited 4449d ago )

Cheaters never win. Actually they do in the short term. In the long term they lag themselves to death.

lfc_4eva4449d ago

I've just applied the update. It gave an error when unpacking the audio. However the game still works and I'm not noticing any performance issues.

Still great :-)

Criminal4449d ago

A little slower on loading too.

lfc_4eva4448d ago (Edited 4448d ago )

Not sure about the loading times tbh. I've got it on an ssd, so loading times are pretty quick anyway.

Not sure why I've got disagrees for expressing my observations. Maybe the SDF are not happy with me saying the game is still great ;-) SAD SAD SAD.

However I don't really care because "We're gonna win the league!". hehehehe.

Bad news for PC gamers. How are Xbox One owners faring?

incendy354449d ago

I haven't played today, busy with Kinect Sports Rivals haha. But Titanfall was working great yesterday.

Sitdown4449d ago

Is Sports Rivals worth The purchase?

incendy354449d ago

I love it, but I do think the price will come down pretty quickly. Maybe wait if you aren't into motion controlled sports. If you do get it, add me GT is incendy, always looking for some tennis competition.

BEASELY4449d ago

No slow-downs on my end, just played around 10 matches on different servers.

randomass1714449d ago

No bad news from my friend (his Xbox One is the one I played Titanfall on). Sounds like they'll need to issue another patch to deal with the load times. :/

ThatEnglishDude4449d ago

A patch to fix an issue that was introduced in the patch. Whatever happened to quality control?

randomass1714449d ago

In all fairness, this game is technically from an EA developer. And DICE, who are great devs, put out Battlefield 4 in a broken and unplayable state.

GarrusVakarian4448d ago

I played a few matches after downloading the patch yesterday and it was exactly the same as it was pre-patch. The loading times take a while, but they did anyway. No performance changes either.

Sucks for people who are having problems.

No issues on XB1 so far...in fact maybe it's just "placebo affect" but it almost feels smoother...although I know they said there were no performance fixes in this one.

The only thing i hate is the long waits to find a match. After that the long countdown

randomass1714449d ago

Is that on PC? My experience on Xbox One was pretty quick on matchmaking (albeit pretty unbalanced) and then there was indeed a countdown. Servers generally last since players can jump in during matches, other than that after getting into a game all you really need to worry about is that sixty second countdown.

Iamnemesis48804449d ago

i run titan fall on X1 i wish there is a 60 second countdown it is 80 seconds

theRell4449d ago (Edited 4449d ago )

I would be quite ok with that countdown time being lowered as well.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1377d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1377d ago (Edited 1377d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp777d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
