As a console-only gamer and as a HUGE sci-fi geek......i am beyond jelly.

Wow.

Abriael4298d ago

You never really know. Chris Roberts dropped hints on the possibility of a PS4 port multiple times (and once to me personally at Gamescom, and I have the footage to prove it lol), so it could come, one day :D

GarrusVakarian4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

Omg, you shouldn't have told me that, lol.

Make it happen guys! I beg.

Saryk4298d ago

I put my $60+ bucks for it on Kickstarter. And I only play my games on PC , I think consoles suck (old fart syndrome). But I would like to see it go to other systems.

I'm going re-download it soon as I get home!

hay4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

Sold! If Henchmen 24 is working on this game, it's gonna be awesome!

ZodTheRipper4298d ago

It will take a lot of time and unfortunately downgrading to make it run smoothly on PS4. I think now that it's shaping up quite good I can invest some money into it as well. I was a hater once because I thought that the funding was just way too high but if they keep this pace up I'll gladly support it.

christrules00414298d ago

@zod18
No it wouldn't take that much time to port to the ps4. PC games are made for high to low end rigs with having everything settings from high to medium and low end graphics. They will have to find the sweet spot with what texture quality they can have, anti aliasing, special effects, ect.

T24298d ago

@abriael - i love how you get disagrees for stating a fact from butthurt "master race" geeks. the fact is CR did say he would consider it, but he is also a perfectionist in a way (self proclaimed) so he would only do it if there was a way to port it over with full integrity which seems kind of unlikely now.... but the more widespread a game can be the better off it will be for any game.... and wing commander was on playstation before, so there is that history thing... although by IV it was kind of running it's course and to be honest, it didn't play super well on ps2 (or was it ps1)

Amiroo4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

nope, sorry. he clearly said he doesn't like consoles and they never port it on consoles.

aliengmr4298d ago

They are open to the idea provided MS and/or Sony allow cross platform play and the freedom to update without restriction.

Not out of the question for sure, but realistically I wouldn't get peoples hope up. At least until the PC version is done, which is still a ways out.

Lord_Sloth4298d ago

Great news. I've missed Colony Wars so maybe this will fill that void.

Panthers4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

I would say nearly everyone needs a computer anyways. Might as well get one that can play games, even if at low settings.

There are too many amazing PC only games to pass up. I dont see any reason to pass on PC games.

@Lord_Sloth: OMG you just reminded me of that game. I miss it so much. I never got the first, but Colony Wars Vengeance was amazing, and very hard. I loved that game.

Yeah it looks amazing, dem graphics too

Vladplaya4298d ago

You can get pretty decent gaming computer for 600 dollars now days, unless you are absolutely broke, I don't see a reason why wouldn't you.

T24298d ago

i actually work with pc all day and don't have one in my home at all... pretty much don't care to be honest... but no reason why the average person wouldn't I suppose.

TheDevKit4298d ago

If you're smart about it, you can get one for less than $600.

Dragonopolis4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

Uh.... no $600??? maybe if you built-it-yourself and only want to play the games of yesterday really well.... That system will however cry at any modern games of tomorrow. I wouldn't get single gpu card less than gtx 770 or R9 280x which are averaging around the $350 mark (Dont get a 2GB GDDR5 card 3GB min or even 4GB GDDR5 better). That means $250 for the rest of the PC which not going to happen. Budget around $400 to $500 for the rest of the PC which will put you in the $800 range (If you go budget always get a SLI or Crossfire board "dual pci 16x or 8x slots" it pays down the road if you cant afford crossfire now you can add the second later when the price comes down or you've saved up for the second gpu).

Sometimes the stars align and SLI or Crossfire can really do the trick. This happen to me with Radeon HD 5770 in crossfire roughly 5 years ago and a awesome deal on intel i7 920 (I overclocked it to 4GHz). I'm just starting to feel the age of my system I built for $1000 dollars lasted me 5 years played many games of tomorrow at graphic and performance details well above consoles of the same time period. Right now the stars are in similar alignment with the R9 270x. You can find 4GB GDDR5 R9 270x for around $260. Total cost in crossfire that's around $520 add $400 to $500...... your looking at roughly $1000. Why R9 270x crossfire???? It is hanging and even beating top of the line single gpu cards all for less than a a single gpu card solution. There are always discounts and promos running so you might save yourself a $100 to $150 your still in that $800 to $1000 maybe getting down to $700 for single gpu setups

.....but $600 dollars.... never if you want your system to last

Oh remember this is a build-it-yourself setup and good luck getting that $600 PC retail that can game decently... not going to happen... and a lot of people don't like, or have the time, or the knowledge to build a PC themselves

Budget for $1000 PC and then try to get that $1000 PC a bit cheaper..... you won't regret it.

Star Citizen is coming along real damn good

ArbitorChief4298d ago (Edited 4298d ago )

Finally, a true next-gen game. Looking forward to this on PC, good to see a game take full advantage of PC and not be dumbed down by consoles.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart4298d ago

There is plenty of "true" next gen games that have been shown.

I'm jealous of the people that can afford to play this game.

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

You can't afford $55?

thorstein15d ago

"Full disclosure: the author of this article has backed Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign."

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

...and as such, he knows better than you, who have never touched the game and can only rage about things you don't know. 😌

thorstein15d ago

So anyone critical of your site and it's blatant promotion of the game hasn't played the game? Yeah, okay, Abrael.

I didn't back it 14 years ago and I'm glad. That doesn't mean I haven't taken it for a spin.

SimulationDaily15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Sure you have dude. Sure you have.

If you did, you'd know that there's a reason (actually many reasons) why people who actually play it regularly keep supporting it more every year, and more and more join.

And it isn't that they're all crazy and you somehow know better. 😏

Incidentally. "My site" reports on games. Star Citizen is a game. So we report about it fairly, like we do with other games. The fact that you don't like it is completely irrelevant (and also hilarious).

But hey, keep chewing on bile every time there's news about the game if that makes you happy. May as well get used to it. We're not gonna stop regardless of how much you cry, and the game certainly isn't going to disappear.

fr0sty15d ago

These people are so gullible.

TheCaptainKuchiki14d ago

Can we stop calling it crowdfunding???? "Crowdfunding" is only valid when there's no product available for purchase.
Since popel are now able to buy a PRODUCT, it's simply called REVENUE. It's not an unreleased product anymore and hasn't been many years.

Darkseeker14d ago

All the people falling for this scam that will never be released.

It's beginning to look a lot like Griftmas.

Imagine buying in to this in your 20s and then, as you near, 40 years of age, there is still no difinitive release date for a finished game.

Sircolby4528d ago

Even at its worst, Star Citizen is already better than the overwhelming majority of games at their best. That goes especially for the steaming pile of shit the AAA devs are turning out these days. It's ironic that people will call this game a grift and then turn around and buy the latest Call of Duty clone.

thorstein28d ago

It's not ironic because I call this game a grift and I didn't buy CoD.

I spent 2025 buying and playing incredible indie games.
