iPhone line forms at Apple's flagship for absolutely no reason

So word on the street (literally) is that a large number of people are queuing in line outside of Apple's flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York City (see above) -- keep in mind the Cube is open 24 hours a day. Our intrepid girl-on-the-scene reports that the group is more than 60-deep, though most people seem confused about what they're waiting for, while some believe they're actually camping out for a 3G iPhone. Meanwhile, Apple reps tell us they're crowd-controlling iPhone buyers because otherwise they would be "screaming" at employees and clogging up the store. See what happens when you get short on stock? More pics after the break.

these are probably the same people that bought the much inferior original model just to say look what i got,get a life!

I hope it's not one of those tricks that people do like pretending to be Best Buy employees or having a large group of people stand still for a set amount of time.

Imallvol76566d ago

it says at the end of the article that they denied involvement

Imallvol76566d ago

No one has any idea what the line is for. It just showed up and people started joining it?

They are Apple addicts afterall. They would follow Apple off the edge of the earth. Perhaps the latest Apple iTunes update had mind control waves simulators and Steve was just testing it out? Not like he'd need it though cause he could just tell his fans anything he says and they would. Sort of like the World's Thinnest notebook that's only as thin as it is because it has no optical drive. Congratulations?

Agreed. Apple fans are often blinded by trendiness, and pay top dollar for products that could be performed by lesser payed products. I don't deny that some Apple products are very functional, but sheesh, why pay that much? People who want functional technology at a reasonable price can always buy different brands. I realize that the word "iPod" has become the vernacular with MP3 players, but there are other brands out there that do fundamentally the same things and for a better price. $hit, most of the brands that aren't iPod don't even subscribe to DRM. My 4GB Sandisk Sansa serves me extremely well and I can copy and recopy my music to it any time I please without restriction. Feel free to disagree with me, but to a large extent, it's true.

If you get a big enough crowd to stand around it will get bigger with rubber necks and the curious.

Probably down to the high cost of gaming. Controllers and racing wheels can cost as much as consoles.

This is why there will always be competition in gaming. The possibilities to make huge profits is just too enticing.

Pokémon Go Championship Winner Title Revoked for ‘Unsportsmanlike Conduct’

The winner of the Pokémon Go Championship grand finals in Orlando was stripped of their title, allegedly for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' during their victory celebration. The celebration involved the winner removing their headset, standing up, and pumping their fists before shaking hands with their opponent. Many believe the ruling was excessive and that winner's victory celebration was tame compared to celebrations by winners in other competitive games.

There are people that get offended seeing others just enjoying a moment, or enjoying a hobby, or just having fun.

Can someone explain to me what is so problematic with this? I watched video multiple times and all I see dude having bit of celebration. None of his actions felt aggressive or seem like they symbolize anything... Like winning sure deserves bit of celebration like that. I mean who wants to live in the world where you aren't allowed to be excited or have bit of burst of happiness when you win? Like was he supposed to act like emotionless robot? He should be allowed to have bit of his victory "hell yeah" moment, even if it is before shaking hands with opponent. Like it is not like he didn't shake hands or whatnot. And it is not like he is like some super serious government official to have to stick to protocol to a letter. This whole thing is just ridiculous.
