Overclocking ram is so last year.

Time for water cooled Ram.

Apollo14423d ago

Water cooled is old too no?

AnEwGuY4423d ago

Yes it is. The best way to cool your high-end PC now, is to pay a nude supermodel to squat by your intake vent, and periodically fart into it, while eating an iced mocha yogurt smoothie.

jackanderson19854423d ago

eh AnEwGuy that method is also outdated... new practice is to have a group of dwarfs periodically waving their arms to chill water that is then transported around using mini turtles

SirBradders4423d ago

Dudes your all out of date I have 4 hamsters on steroids in wheels mimicking the dyson fanless air coolers strapped to the side of my rig.

Easier they make it to set up a gaming PC, the less people will buy consoles.

sashimi4423d ago (Edited 4423d ago )

Even if i did have a gaming PC(my last 2 PCs were gaming actually) i'd still buy consoles which i have :) There are just some games i can't get on PC that i enjoy too much to give up.

Skate-AK4423d ago

I know what you mean. RDR and GTA5 come to mind. Also all the JRPGs I would miss out on. Was just saying the main complaint I see is console people don't want to go through the headache of drivers and configuration. At least this can make it easier in case you want to put out better graphics.

matt1394423d ago

No way, people buy consoles for the exclusives and because it's what they always have done. There is nothing at all complicated about 'setting up' a gaming PC. It's just not very practical when you have a console that can run the same games and more.

How bout the most anticipated DDR4 RAM?? that was once promised?

porkChop4423d ago

Keeps getting delayed. I'm not upgrading my rig until I can get DDR4, DX12, etc, so I won't have to worry about any major upgrades for a while. But this DDR4 crap is really pissing me off, was supposed to be out ages ago.

Skate- PC's since windows XP pretty much configure themselves. The operating systems update themselves as well as the drivers for your hardware all through windows update. nvidia graphics cards also update using their recent addition called geforce experience, which I might add also configures all the graphical settings for installed games so they run at their best.

As for this "new" ram... it's not new at all. It's called XMP and my 16gb of Corsair DDR3-1600 has pre-defined levels of performance as mandated by JDEC (the memory mafia... like OPEC is to Oil).

The other day I dropped $280 and bought an i5-4670 that's now overclocked to 4.4ghz and an Asrock z87 Extreme4, and the installation of windows 7 x64 was easier than setting up a brand new PS4.

And what JRPG's does PS4 have that you can't play on PC? Did you know that just about a week ago there was a major breakthrough for PS3 emulators? Retail games are now bootable. :) so much for your exclusivity.

SirBradders4423d ago

I agree with your first 3 statements because i was a newbie to PC building up until a year ago when forked out 1300 for a gaming rig i built myself. Your right my GPU comes with a gigabyte control software in which with a click of the button im overclocked, the same goes for my bios on my motherboard, one click my ram or processor is done.

That is a bit harsh what about supporting devs to create future projects, if everything was free we would all be skint and what about PS4 JRPG's there wont be an emulator for that in a while.
