Infamous: Second Son is a pretty good game. Though I didn’t care much for the plot, I still enjoyed my time grabbing new superpowers, traipsing around virtual Seattle, and fighting the dastardly Department of Unified Protection (DUP). That said, the biggest impression I’m left with after completing the “good” path of the storyline and running around finishing some post-game objectives is that Infamous is a series in need of some substantial re-thinking.

From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Batman: Arkham City to breakout hit Dispatch and new Marvel Cosmic Invasion, these are 10 of the best superhero games you can play today.

Huzaifah from eXputer writes, "My favorite type of genre in games is when enemies are merely animal fodder in the eyes of the protagonist's sheer power."

Fans of the action-adventure franchise have been eagerly awaiting news of a potential sequel to one of the best games on the PS4.
Umm ... how about this?
First we get the Tushima sequel(coz its most rumored)
Then a new Resistance (need new PS SP FPS)
Then a totally new IP (new IPs are always interesting)
And then a new inFamous?
I had a great time with the second son. Never got to play the originals and hope they get remastered one day.
If I had a choice between another Infamous game and another Spider-Man game, I choose Spider-Man. Sony should spend its resources on its winners.
Make it more of an adventure game where you explore the Huge Sandbox world thus making all areas accessible but your chances of surviving those areas depending on your characters skill level.
example if you haven't mastered flying or super jump then you can still get on roof tops but you will not be able to go from roof top to roof top thus finding the secret cloud world and leveling up your fire ball powers even more.
*secret cloud world was just an OFF hand example I know this is NOT SUper Mario.
I really liked the improved movement abilities in Second Son (very fluid and easy to navigate), but the whole "good path vs. bad path" morality idea feels very dated now. With games like The Walking Dead making morality so ambiguous and full of grey areas, the good-evil spectrum is more limiting than ever (not to mention that many powers are locked behind one kind of moral alignment).
Also, Delsin is not anywhere near as interesting a character as Cole. Cole evolved over the course of the first two games, while Delsin's main personality features could be learned within the first hour and didn't do too much to change.
I really like Infamous as a series. Free-roaming action sequences are awesome, but the things that made the series so iconic in the PS3 days don't seem to be cutting it now, at least not on their own.
Why reinventing the wheel? It functions perfectly for now, at least until we'll be able to levitate.
It needs to take a more Justice League route where your character goes up against a Legion of Doom or Brotherhood of Evil where your character fights other villains who have been gifted with powers by the ray sphere.
Then you have to recruit heroes to fight them. A free-roaming, inFamous RPG type of game...*drool*
I think they seriously need to expand on side plots and supporting character quest lines. And they DEFINITELY need to bring factions back. Because the side content in infamous outside of Paper Trail missions are pretty lackluster and play it way too safe. (Btw, who immediately figured out that the paper conduit is the first prisoner at Curdon Cay who killed herself according to the audio logs, if this is supposed to be some big revelation it's very poorly handled in the game)
Replaying the game and critiquing it gives me the impression that they had to cut corners and cut out content that would've expanded on Eugene and Fetch. The first half hour makes you think you're gonna get engrossed in this coming of age cinematic superhero story but after that most of the important dialogue is relegated to in-game dialogue, we some cutscenes even being completely and utterly pointless and kind of a waste of a scene that's using full performance capture.
"Come on supergirl, got people to meet and powers to steal"
^ No point to this scene whatsoever besides being an indication that the mission started. It's just Delsin walking back and forth for ten seconds then it ends. Meanwhile, there's a line of dialogue in-game where Fetch is explaining what being imprisoned was like, while you're tailing a van and trying to keep up with someone who's running at light speed.
They did improve the narrative overall though with Delsin being a much more compelling and likeable protagonist than yet another shave headed brooding caucasian male with no personality and a gravelly voice. Cole isn't the worst protagonist ever but he sure isn't compelling or written as well as the big leagues of gaming.
And let's seriously stop it with the illusion of choice and very antiquated moral system that barely changes the game. Just let us decide at the beginning and then lock us in or get rid of it. And at the very least improve the writing so that the evil side doesn't feel like fanfiction.
"This move I like to call LAZER"
^ Makes me cringe every time I hear it.
That and the fact that Reggie still says "I'm so proud of you" after you kill countless civilians and cops.
This game is gonna get an awful lot of honorable mentions at the award shows this year instead of actual awards due to the faults stated above. I want them to do better, because this was a good first next gen entry, it's just not an AMAZING first next gen entry. So at the very least we can put our minds at ease that the only possible thing they can do now is take our feedback and give us a mind-blowing GOTY well written varied infamous game next time.
EDIT:Inb4 stealth disagrees from the trackers who never offer a rebuttal yet can't stand to see ps games get critiqued and analyzed.
