Many fans of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim probably would've preferred a direct sequel to that game rather than Elder Scrolls Online, an MMORPG set in the same world. However, ESO is actually a great option for Skyrim veterans.
Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk is now live for all platforms (including PC/Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation), kicking off a new era for The Elder Scrolls Online. This inaugural Season is live from April 2 until July 8 and lays the foundation for all future Seasons by introducing new reward systems, the first wave of player-focused improvements, class and combat redesigns, new zones and challenges, and more.

Check out some of the rewards you can unlock and acquire in ESO’s first ever Tamriel Tome, arriving April 2, 2026.
Get an in-depth view of the future of ESO with the 2026 Seasons Direct, followed by two developer and community member roundtables. Join the team at ZeniMax Online Studios as they share the many ways ESO is evolving with new adventures, stories, challenges, and systems, plus get your first look at each Season arriving in 2026. A new age for The Elder Scrolls Online is about to begin!
WOW ESO is sooooo much worse, even Oblivion is better.
Can't wait to get my copy of the game
Shady business = dont need the game.
lol NO not even close
what is this? someone using Vanilla Skyrim and comparing it to ESO? LMAO
NO ONE! plays Skyrim as unmodded vailla game.....
the Vanilla combat in Skyrim is better IMO since it got more kinetic energy in it over ESO.
the UI was a mess but it was made for consoles in mind.... who doenst use SkuUI when they play Skyrim now?
@the Variety: yes they have more areas in ESO. but they are all lifeless and empty in comparison to Skyrim or even oblivion when it comes to the small details and the lore.
and dont get me started on all the respawning mobs in ESO......
@crafting: yes it was flawed in Skyrim, lets leave it too that. but it was working and there is alot of mods that make crafting meaning full aswell. tho ESO take one point here.
@Multiplayer: well TES have never been an Online game. it doesnt really fit the play style they where looking for in Oblivion and Skyrim.
ESO whould be better without all the online characters running around all the time. too immersion breaking, in a series that have always had immersion really high on the list of needs.
